Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
Neither Blake or Fisher have shown the ability to get inside the paint at all, while Goudelock is the only one outside of Kobe who can break his man down off the dribble. The quick crossover and finish with the floater is money, and his three is fire when left open.
I can see this kid averaging 15 to 18 points a game as a full time starter that plays 30 minutes, and him settling down on the quick shots because he would know he won't get yanked out the game.

Re: Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
He's earned it!
Blake is afraid to shoot when inside the 3 pt line, and Fisher can't shoot, nor create anything.
The Jeremy Lin situation should give Brown the confidence to at least give it a shot.
The Knicks had the 2nd worst (us being 1st) PG issue in the NBA. Now it appears their problem is solved.
What do we have to lose? 11 min/game is simply not enough. The kid can ball. Fisher can't. End of story.

Nobody has the balls to bench Fisher, the guy must have ties to the Mob or something. My brain hurts trying to even comprehend why he still starts or even is still playing in the NBA.

You start Blake, but you play Goudelock at backup PG and SG for 36 minutes a night and things will change. Better yet go get Goran Dragic who can play next to Goudelock or Kobe. He's cheap too!

our solution to point guard is not gonna come internally, it's going to come via trade/free-agency. no more experimenting, we need a point guard damnit

If he still has to consider it, we should fire him today. It should have been done a long time ago. Goudelcock can flat out play, forget where he was drafted, sometimes you get the right player and he is ready to go from day one. Actually it is about time that we got a 2nd rounder that is a diamond in the rough. A lot of other teams have done it before, and now we have done it, and it is time to take advantage of it.
I still want us to get a legit PG as Goudelock isn't a pure PG. It is managements job to get Brown the right pieces, but it is his responsibility to make the best of what he has I am still in the Sessions camp, offer them McRoberts, Morris, and a bunch of 2nds (or a first if they force our hand, but I would try to make it our 2013 1st) and see if we can get it done. The Cavs will most likely lose Jamison, so McRoberts could form a nice young PF duo with Thompson next season.

Re: Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
I love Goudelock's game. He's a bigger Salim Stoudamire (remember him), a little SG with no conscience (I mean that in a good way).
However, if Goudelock were to start, who runs the offense? Kobe?
This team needs a guy like Goudelock who can shoot, but they also need a guy who can run an offense. Can Goudelock run an offense? I don't think so. Like Mike Brown said, he's never, ever, ever played PG before until this year.
Just because he's the size of a PG doesn't mean he's a PG. He ain't.
If the Lakers had an oversized PG (someone bigger than Blake who can actually check most 2-guards), Goudelock would flourish and probably steal minutes from W. Peace (with Kobe sliding down to the 3).
But until the Lakers get a big PG who can check PGs and play with Kobe and the bigs, and play with Goudelock and check SGs, he (Goudelock) will be stuck in purgatory.
But Goudelock can't play PG folks ... unless you make Kobe the main facilitator and there's only one man that could do that and he's somewhere in Montana right now with a Buss in his lap.

They gotta do something!!!! That was even worse than seeing them lose to the Kings in the first week of the season! My girl came home wanting to 'do it'. I didnt want to 'do it' after watching that game! I mean, I 'did it', but i didnt want to!!! smh!

Our solution is not to start a rookie, second round draft pick and undersized shooting guard.

I think its a good idea. We need some shooters on the floor with Kobe to take the pressure off.

He doesn't have the balls to. The guy is just a glorified substitute teacher - Players don't mind because they still get paid, and get to deal with a mellow environment, even when they're sucking and deserve to be screamed/yelled at.

Re: Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
As to the topic at hand, I've been saying this FOREVER. Goud. has the efficiency to back this up, doesn't turn the ball over, and moves the ball decently. With that said, it doesn't really fix the problem of Kobe jacking shots and shooting us out of games - It does, however, give us production at the PG position.

Re: Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
All I know is whenever I watched him play PG while Blake was out, the offense was crisp, he never turned the ball over, and he was the best player at making post entry passes. I agree that he isn't a pure PG, but neither is Fisher (I actually think Goudelock has superior PG skills to Fisher), the difference is that Goudelock is actually a good player.

Re: Should Mike Brown consider starting Goudelock at PG?
i think he should start at PG.. he's a decent passer, but he can penetrate and score. the defense collapses on him and even if he misses that floater after penetrating the bigs will be there to put it back in.
