Props to Bynum

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:03 am

In March (his last 8 games) he is averaging 24 points, 13.25 rebounds, 67% FG%, 2 blocks and lots of clutch play.

Bynum making a move for D12 look light a lateral move. Go Bynum!!!

Andrew's still pretty gangly/awkward, but he's getting to the point where, at least once a game, he pulls out this unexpectedly fluid move that makes me sit up in my seat. Tonight it was the spin move around Kaman. Last night it was a really pretty pivot and reverse layup from underneath the rim, with no glass -- something you'd expect from Gasol.

We all knew this guy could be really good. His only problem is staying healthy, hopefully that's no longer an issue

Yeah, I'm not going to be convinced it's no longer an issue until he gets through not only this season but the next. But it's easy to forget about it when he's tearing people up like this.

If he keeps this up it would become a downgrade

Kobe is finally trying his best to feed Bynum down low a bunch of times instead of shooting every shot in the 4th plus Pau is getting him at least 2-3 easy baskets per game.

We may not have any point guards but what we do have is the second best center in the league. I'd much rather have it this way. The points guard position is overrated.

Bynum won't be going anywhere if Howard will not agree to an extension...

And I am fine with that, if we can get Sessions and Beasly, Lakers will be fine.

In the off season, they need to get rid of Walton & Fisher , then use the MLE on the best PG available.

go team...!

you make it sound so easy, theyre still on contracts, not like they're currently expiring and we're letting them expire.

unless we trade them with draft picks for savings (harder than it looks ie sasha/ammo), we'd be trying to get better players with longer deals

i think we've been trying to trade luke and fish every single year. so lack of success in doing so kinda dampens my hopes on simply getting rid of them

i don't think the MLE isn't going to be used willy nilly. plus the best PG available is deron williams, i dont think he'd play for the lakers for 2.5mil per year

As a center, Bynum is one of the few guys on this team that knows how to pass over a fronting defender in the post. Better than our PGs. Sad.

No way :o For sure his height makes a big difference but I'm talking about the decisiveness and accuracy when he makes his passes. I don't see many other big men making those kind of throws. It seems like too often our guards are way too timid to throw the pass as well, very frustrating.

On another note, here's an article about Drew that highlights some tidbits from his interview earlier this morning

"I definitely feel like I'm going to be a Laker for a long period of time," Bynum said on 710 ESPN's "Max & Marcellus Show" on Wednesday. "They had an opportunity to trade me earlier, they didn't do it. They wanted me to develop and I started realizing, now I'm trying to go get it.

Trade rumors don't really affect me. I've been in every one that's come up so far and the Lakers always hold on to me, so for that I give them gratitude and I'm going out there and showing on the court that they made the right decision."
