I've been to Cleveland. It was cold. It was gray. I was happy to leave.

NO one could make a bench so warm. Luke will probably not be missed.

in all seriousness, in the dark days with chucky/smush, luke was a such a key cog to the lakers modest machine. he was totally worth his slightly lower than MLE deal, just unfortunate the lakers had to over do it by going 6 yrs.

he was my 2nd favorite player behind LO for a long time, really sucks injuries took away all of his already limited game.

Yup. He was decent for a couple of years after that in the bench mob giving nifty highlight passes. He was a likable guy perfect for the triangle....his injuries + terrible contracts made him a joke. With luke and Fish gone, Drew has now been with the team longest after Kobe. Drew Pau and Kobe are the only ones left from the 09 title, and that trio plus Metta are the only ones left from the 10 championship. Really crazy to think about

I'll always remember Luke as the beast who tortured the Nuggets a couple years ago in the playoffs. IIRC he averaged 16ppg, 4 ast and like 5 reb right? He may have had an inflated contract but I agree with Doc at the time, it wasn't so bad and he was a major part of our modest machine, great way to put it by the way Doc. It is sad that injuries took the little game he had, for sure though, a very smart player. Not athletically gifted in any way but I guess that's what was so amazing about Luke, with no hops, no dribbles he made great passes, some key shots in his earlier years and was always able to add some lax to our constipated offense at times. Thanks Luke, I'll miss going Luuuuuuuukkkee!

didn't he shoot close to 50% from the field for those two or three months the 'new ball' was used? other than that, great passer, he hustled and never was a problem guy. may the force be with you, luke.

Yeah, he led the league in 3pt FG% when the league used the new ball.

I beleive that Luke earned more than his father in the league. he should thnka Magic, Bird and Jordan everyday for his good fortune and last name. I wonder if Phil will get a piece of the trade kicker? Only Phil found a way to play him.
