Did he also claim to have given 100% every time on the court with LA? Good riddance head case. Of course he will say this because Lakers FO can say he did and nobody knows the truth. He's still not over it if he's still making comments which shows it was a wise decision.

After the new CBA was agreed upon it became clear that the FO are trying to cut salaries....it would have been him or Pau(or both ,as the vetoed trade showed)...no way we could've kept them both(especially with Odom needing another contract after this season)

So in the end, they chose wisely, got rid of the right player....hated it,but it's just business

BS indeed. He even went on national television and basically said he needed to take control of the situation. By control, he meant requesting to be traded.

Not sure if LO has selective memory or is referring to the original trade (Hornets/Rockets) but it has been said by multiple people (Mitch, Lamar, and Lamar's agent) that after that deal was vetoed Lamar asked that they trade him and Dallas was on a short list of teams he wanted to play for.

If Lamar was even having a decent season we wouldn't be hearing about this, just another cop out for his crap season.

Odom was a waste of money on Lakers' part. Fisher will be missed, not Odom.

I'd welcome Odom back. We have exactly 1 PF under contract next year so there's no question we'll be looking to bring one in. Odom makes the most sense, especially since he's killing his own value. Other teams will be hesitant to throw money at him given how he's performed for the Mavs, and I'm thinking he'll be amped about coming back to the Lakers where he's most familiar with the personnel. Heck, maybe this whole experience will re-light a fire in his ass.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard on these boards. Odom was a waste? Without Odom, we would of not won those championships. When Bynum went down, Odom stepped up. Watch some games before you come on here and make yourself look foolish.

When I see how bad Odom's numbers are, I am reminded of him saying he was thinking about retiring before the season. His WIFE had to talk him out of it (I suppose being married to a NBA Star, a sixth man of the year, a two-time champion and a Laker is more glamorous than being married to a tall out-of-work African American (sic joke).

I can't help thinking that Mitch somehow new he was giving the Mavs "damaged goods" which has further sunk them this season. If he did my hat is off to him...!

It is not surprising that Odom has now come up with "He never asked to leave" scenario. I am hoping he will just keep his mouth shut from here on out, play out the season, have the Mavs buy out his contract from next season ($2mil) and then come back to the Lakers on a Non-Gurantteed (in case he can't get his play back) Vetrens minimum contract for next season, then the Lakers can NOT resign either Murphy, Hill or McBob)..

unleashed...

I'd easily take him back next season for the mini mle or vet min. We aren't keeping Troy or Jordan after all. In fact we may very well still sell Pau, and Odom did have a great chemistry with Drew. Plus I really don't want to see Miami get him for the vet min or mini mle which is where he would go back to

15, 9, and 3 were his averages as a Laker .... I'd welcome him back after a second stint like we did Derek especially since like Derek he was the third best player on two title teams and knows how to win
