Im sure mike brown has nothing to worry about moving forward.. nobody is expecting much from mb in a shorten season with hardly any practice time. not to mention hes trying to run a pickn roll offense with triangle type players

If you watch Kobe's interview he tells us what this is: the media trying to create a story. Instead he said all the right things. Mike Brown's job is safe for the foreseeable future.

This is a non-issue. Benching Kobe was the absolute right thing to do. No one man is above the team. If you wanna play superFrustration basketball, you might as well forfeit and go home. Kobe was over the top frustrated and the frustration was beginning to rub off on the rest of the team. Sit that mudafuka and tell him to calm his ass down.
BTW is it just me or has everyone in the league figured out that its surprisingly easy to strip the ball from Kobe's hands.. and the unbelievable thing is that after you do, he will cry like a bitch instead of pursuing the ball and redeeming himself. But you know what... Hes Kobe Bryant. shhhhhhh.... can't talk about that...
**and... Kobe answers to the reporters were on point. That's all there really is to say.

Non-issue, and the Lakers out of all teams won't randomly fire a coach asap in his first year, in the lockout year.. that's not us. And good on MB for growing some balls and leaving Kobe on the bench, right move or not.
It's been like this for the last few years, his ball security is pretty bad. It used to be just on drives though you could swing your hand down and hit all ball and strip.. but now while he's there about to back down the Griz were always slapping it away.

That was my first thought as well. No one has even tried to hold Kobe accountable at all this season (at least publicly).

It's funny because at the same time he showed that he has no balls. As soon as the crowd started chanting Kobe, Kobe, he put Kobe right back in. He made himself look even worse by doing so

Absolutely agree. And the sad part is that you don't need a Bruce Bowen or even a Tony Allen to get it done. its annoying... its almost to be expected nowadays... Kobe on the block, please lord don't let him get stripped... oh snap! ball comes loose... He starts acting like a kid, fast break points on the other end... the team acts like nothing happened.... shame!
And some people think its due to past injured fingers. I say if it's good enuf to shoot with, its good enough to hold on to the ball while backing down an opponent.
I just don't think Kob is equipped to handle triple teams like in the past. He needs to get rid of the ball faster when they come around.

Kobe has always been stripped in the lane where he throws both of his hands up trying to draw the foul. They always said he didn't have huge hands. Factor in the fingers and the wrist and it's worse now.

This is a much bigger deal than it should be. Kobe was flat out gassed. We were down by 14 with no chance of coming back against that good of a team. Ironically buckets came easier with him on the bench. lol

Reality check for being a ball hog, shooting 0-11 the other game second half, and making to much money and costing the Lakers chances to sign other players. Just think if you were not making 25-30 million a year. Odom migtht still be here. Another great player might be here. Cap room might exist. Thanks Kobe, maybe next time make some of those shots and you will not be sat for 5 minute time out. So sad, to bad....Plus your ex wife is still very hot looking...

Yes under my exaggerated, hypothetical situation dropping kobe's salary 22 mill 27 to 5, we'd be ~57.5 mil with Bynum picked up. We'd have 500k under this years cap with only Blake at PG to pick up a great player.

I do agree that Odom leaving has nothing to do with it, but Kobe's albatross contract limits the team to make moves while not getting themselves too deep into the tax. The Mavs, the Magic and the Knicks are great examples of why you shouldn't recklessly spend simply because the owner is rich and the team is above the cap. It's much harder to make moves when the team is filled with bad contracts, and the only way to improve is to add even more salary. Unfortunately, Pau is pretty much a bad contract these days with his decline in production, and Kobe is definitely not worth 28 mil/year based on his performance, so the potential of seeing this team improve becomes very small.
