OT: why are Kobe's unpopular?

So I'm a big sneaker head and I've noticed that besides the obvious Jordans selling out the most popular shoe to sell out are the Lebrons and the Durants, I'm 28 years old and the closest I've seen to Jordan is Kobe so why no love? I mean he has 5 rings and is a hall of famer but his shoes never sell out it can't just be the design do people just not like Kobe?

Not a lot of people like low tops and Durant's hyperize shoes are pretty awesome to wear and play in.

Kobe is not unpopular though, "polarizing" is a better word.

I stop ballin' in Kobe kicks ever since he went to the low cut.
The ZK1,ZK2 and ZK3 were legendary kicks to hoop in.

After that some people were cracking their ankles literally because they would play in the lower cut Kobe kicks without ankle support. Forgetting that Kobe does play in the same low cut shoe but would have his ankles taped every time he goes to battle.

I still buy a pair or two each season of the current Kobe shoe but I don't wear em' to ball in.
I got the latest Kobe's (ZK7) which you can alter from mid to low cut by changing the insoles.
But seriously it still doesn't have enough ankle support IMO.

As for the Jordan/ Kobe popularity comparison it isn't even fair.
Jordan literally Revolutionized the NIKE World waaay back then when the number one basketball shoes were Converse.

As for performance, Jordan kicks are waaay tooo heavy compared to the new Nike Technology.

I understand how people didn't like the Adidas Kobe II's,

I agree the Jordan comparison is unfair but Lebron/Durant? I grew up a huge Bulls fan and still am I would never root for Lebron or Durant but for some reason whenever there's a Lakers game on tv I turn it on to watch Kobe while I still have the chance, meh maybe I'm getting old.

Kobe wore the jordans (and iversons) when he was a free agent in the shoe contract.

He wore these throughout the playoffs in the 3 peat, instead of those "bullet" shoe

I stop buying signature shoes in 07, since they're designed to fit the players game style anyway. I just buy the shoe that's most comfortable and can sustain the pressure I put on them.

These are my sig shoe......

These dropped in 95 and have currently been re released.

Those moonboot joints were ugly as hell, I remember I used to clown my boy who had a pair. I got the Kobe Vs, I tend to like low cut basketball shoes. Recently, I have been playing ball in runners, I think they are actually better for ball.
