Has Pau improved since the trade deadline?
He was crying about not feeling comfortable with the possibility of being traded, justifying his poor performances. Has he been any better since the trade deadline? His numbers are slightly better, but he is capable of putting them without much effort, so I'd like to know whether he is now fully centered in the team and winning.

His game has just changed. He's taken to the mid range game to allow for Bynum more freedom in the post.

Re: Has Pau improved since the trade deadline?
It has been like that since the beginning of the season. That doesn't justify his drop in the defensive side though.

So why is Bynum shooting 3's in game?

To take up space on the perimeter so the only place Kobe and his ego can fit is on the block.

He's been rebounding like a beast recently and has been looking more comfortable out there.

Hes more in tune with the offense, its on the defensive side where i want him to pay more attrntion to detail. yeah hes been better since MB but there have been games where the opposing gaurd would drive right around gasol for a lay up without him knowing what just happened, and thats just unexceptable for a 7 footer

Pau is Pau. I'm fine with his play numbers wise. The thing Pau has to work on that I don't think will ever change is toughness that's his biggest weakness & if you're waiting 2 c change that way then you'll be old & grey

He has also been more aggressive especially in the paint!
Instead of just laying it up he chooses to dunk or to drive it in hard into the rack!
hopefully he keeps it up!

Re: Has Pau improved since the trade deadline?
Has anyone noticed him missing more wide open midrange shots in his last few games? Those will go in, but it was just weird seeing him miss 3-4 straight wide open ones in a row in the past few games

Re: Has Pau improved since the trade deadline?
Why is it that Mike Brown can't figure out how to use his big men? When you have Pau/McRoberts, have Pau run the pick and pop with McRoberts down low. When you have Murphy/Gasol run pick and pop with Murphy and have Gasol down low. It really isn't that complicated, yet Brown deflates his big men's production.

You forget 2009. He tore it up throughout the playoffs and did a fantastic job on Dwight in the Finals. He played with a chip on his shoulder all season long as a result of that 2008 Celtics series (prior to that 2008 series, he was solid though -- went toe-to-toe with Duncan). He straight up sucked last year though.
As for the thread, I think it's had a slight impact on his game for the better. If nothing else he seems more focused, which is always a good thing. He needs to pick it up defensively though. He always seems slow to help and doesn't always contest shots at the rim, which is a problem with our FC in general. It's mind-boggling that our defense has gotten worse with the addition of a defensive-minded coach, and Pau has certainly been part of the problem. Bynum is the other part of the problem, and the sad thing is he has the ability to impact the game (on the defensive end) in a way that Pau really can't. He just has to commit himself. We have too many mentally weak players on this team that need babysitting. It's a shame that they regularly have to be called out about their effort.

Re: Has Pau improved since the trade deadline?
the pressure is off him. he's focused and this year will be his best playoff stretch since 2009-2010.
he's still option 1b (to bynums 1a, not kobes)
