I just saw this on ESPN. What do you guys think about basketball players getting paid for being in the olympics? I personally think that being in the olympics is about pride for your country. Also don't players get paid for travel expenses, room and board plus uniform and other perks of being an olympic athlete?
I think Dwayne Wade needs to stfu and play!

if he was smarter about it, hed get his sponsors to do endorsements in whatever country

in context it says he wants money from jersey sales. u sell jerseys with my name on it and gain a profit, u better give me a cut. thats not being greedy. who gave us a right to tell them not to earn more cuz they already have a lot. a great scenario though would be players getting that cut and giving it to underpaid olympians who work their behinds off to represent our country every 4 years.

If Wade should do it for free for his country, should anybody else (commissioner, committees, participants) do it for free for their country too? Players like Wade or team USA will make a lot of money for TV ratings and advertising sponsorship, and they give up a lot of their summer time to practice and should feel burnt out when the next NBA season starts. These players are making a lot of money for other people but not themselves.
