Pau's 3 Pointers

Post#1 » by laduane1 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:21 am

Will this be an option he can use during the playoffs. He seems to have the range. At the right times. I hope he can use the 3 pointer. I rather have him brabbing 20 rebounds than shoting 3 pointers.

If his regular shots aren't falling, and his 3's are... Shoot the damn 3s...

If it means more space for Bynum to go beasting, then sure... take the three if it comes down to it.

However on Defense, i want em both in the post! Cant get too used to that thin air out there.

I wonder if Pau got the 3 down to the point where Mike Brown can use this as a set play in case we need a 3 at the end of the game. Pau is hard to block especially if the guy guarding him has to help on D.

In general I would rather see Pau inside where he has a chance to fight for boards and take advantage of our size.

I love this new found range. If he can hit it at a high clip then I'm all for it. Gasol would be a horrid match up for defenders guarding him out there. Hell he can already put the ball on the floor or spin either way, the guy can flat out dish the ball and now he can knock down the long ball too.

He hit two major 3s Sunday and by the look om his face he doesn't look like he is out of his comfort zone. Remember early in the season he wanted to be closer to the basket. I like the change up its good for us. Do you guys think he can hit it at a high clip in the post season maybe around 47-50%?

We'll have to see how the rest of the season goes... But the great thing is, a defender has to stay honest on him out there now... I think the 2 3s were enough for that at least... And that gives Drew some more elbow-room.

But I expect to see him take more, especially while Kobe is out and see how it's falling for him...

In the playoffs, I'd expect a pretty short leash... With a heat-check consisting of a single 3 and if it falls, maybe another one or 2, if it doesn't, no more 3's...

I don't think he can get anywhere near 45% though... That's pretty much unheard of... Maybe for a single game, but for the playoffs, no way. And we'd be ecstatic if he hoovered around 40% for the playoffs.

Its a dam great weapon to have...a long 7 footer launching 3's....whos goona run that far out to even contest that while trying to close the lane for the guards to drive and or leave ab. He has lots of arc on that shot...i love it. maybe 1-2 attempts a game would be nice.

he should utilize it to pump fake his defenders out of position as well...he has enough foot speed to blow by them if he hasn't given up his dribble yet.

If he can get this down, then Gasol will have his best postseason. 22/11/3 great stat line
