If the Lakers want to sign LO, does this mean they shouldn't sign anyone that will take lets say 4-5M during free agency? They need to use MLE on him on december right?

I don't believe that is true, unless something drastically changed the restrictions end when the new league year begins. They say it is 1 year from the date of signing, but I believe it is 1 year or the beginning of a new league year.

is it december? i know the rule says "one year" but is that going from exact dates, or simply end of the season? i was under the impression he could sign july 1st

want him back but how do we know he wants to be back here? I know I read somewhere he is planning on living in LA permanetly but there's always those guys across the hall lol.

I don't think Odom is willing to go back to the Clippers. He'd have a better time adjusting and getting into the swing of things if he came back to the Lakers. He knows the guys and how they play especially the big 3 so I'm 80% sure Mitch and Odom work out a deal where he has a no trade clause or something of that nature so he doesn't have a mental break down.

well to bad for him than, he wont get a no trade clause you have to be on your team for very long consective time, i.e. Kobe/Dirk. Maybe in princible i.e. wink wink deal agreed upon in the office behind closed doors but he wont have it in writing thats fo sure
