Mello needs Kobe... He could learn a whole lot from him.

I might be on board for a Pau/Melo swap if we could get another young talent back with him too. Meaning something like Pau/Eyenga for Melo/Fields?.. Or maybe swap Smith for Fields?

If we're so willing to give up Pau for Melo, then why not take it a step further and swap Bynum for Chandler?

Either way we'd need to go out and get a solid 4 (the return of Odom?) so we might as well beef up our defense/toughness in the middle.

That's crazy, Pau is so much more valuable than Melo. And I'd rather bet on Pau's mid 30s than Melo's early 30s. Pau's game doesn't rely on athleticism. Pau is still one of the best big men in the game, he can play center, he is too intelligent, willing passer, can shoot, post, forget about it.

Right now, I'd trade Bynum for Jeremy Lin and Tyson Chandler.

Oh, that's right, we're talking about Melo?

Ok, how about Bynum, World Peace, Steve Blake, McRoberts, and Eyenga for Melo, Chandler and a resigned Lin and Novak?

Chandler/Melo/Shumpert/Novak for Peace/Blake/Mcbob/Eyenga/Bynum :D....NY can keep Linsanity.

I found it! I'll give you my George Lynch rookie card, the old strings I just took off my guitar, a crack lighter (crack not included) and what the hell, a pair of new boxers as you'll be needing them after reading this awesome deal. I'm on the losing end here, but wait!

If you agree to this in the next 10 mins I'll even throw in a Melo throwback jersey from his Denver days :D

Shumpert over Lin? You'd take a defensive specialist who can't shoot and just TORE HIS ACL over a guy who not only put up a top-10 PER in essentially his rookie year, but put his entire team on his shoulders, became a leader who inspired his teammates, who makes them better, and who's CLUTCH?

I live in the NYC area, and there was Linsanity for a reason. The NBA is a very hard place to win, and Point Guard is a very difficult position to succeed in. He's legit, because he's fundamentally sound, fearless, and all his teammates believe in him.

There's a reason why Melo told coach D'Antoni Jeremy Lin to start; he was killing them everyday in practice.

lin to me is a system player and just had a hot streak, teams werent sure how to defend him yet also we can resign sessions

Wow you guys are really intent on robbing the Knicks lol.
Also no Lin isn't a system player. Even after D'Antoni left and teams figured him out he was still putting up pretty good numbers. Around 15 points and 6 assists. Not amazing but his Tos also went down a lot and so did his minutes. This is really his first season getting any real playing time. I rather have him over Sessions but I also rather have Sessions + Shumpert over Lin so I can see where your going with that.

Lol @ Jeremy Lin and "system"

You mean running the pick and roll and spreading the floor with shooters? This isn't a system; this is a mainstay of most NBA teams.

And not all point guards can run the pick and roll well at all. Because you need to be able to shoot, drive, pass, when to take the screen, when to decline the screen, when to split the double, etc. The pick and roll is so hard to guard ONLY if the guard has the skills to run it.

Lol @ system - if you by system you mean letting a point guard take over the team. This is why D'Antoni was only successful with Nash and Lin. It's not that all his other point guards were not "system" guys. It was that they weren't that good. Nash and Lin are THAT good.

Who else could run the pick and roll that well? Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Nash, James Harden...uh you get the point, right?

Dude, after the first game against Deron Williams, teams were trying to destroy Jeremy Lin, and opposing point guards were trying to bring playoff intensity against him. Everybody wanted to end "Linsanity". Jose Calderon played like Spain's gold medal game against Jeremy Lin. Deron Williams the second time against Jeremy Lin played like his life depended on it. He outclassed John Wall, battled Rubio, and lit up his idol Jason Kidd, who compared him to Steve Nash after the game, and made Jason Terry eat crow.

The only real stinker was his game against the Heat - and like Dwayne Wade said, the Heat's entire gameplan was to take Jeremy Lin out. It didn't help that Carmelo totally destroyed the Knicks offense that night too.

Anyways, even when the Knicks under Woodson went back to Melo Ball, Jeremy Lin still played well. Still attacked the basket, got to the line, still was effective when his shots were cut in half.

He's a baller. His swag is phenomenal. Fearless kid. Plays with all heart. Forget about his race. His story is all about a hardworking kid who plays like his life depends on it.

NY decided to continue to build around Melo (guess they didn't pay attention to what has been happening in Denver). You have to believe that's why D'Antoni was fired, "If you want me to keep coaching the team, you need to move Melo because he isn't buying into what I'm trying to do here." See ya.

Too bad. It was beautiful basketball to watch Lin elevate and inspire Fields, Novak, Shumpert, and Chandler to play the game the right way.
