The actual quote isn't so bad. I can get where Pau's coming from. He's been to war with Kobe before, he's been thrown into the fire. He hasn't been on a free ride. But still, it's time to step up Pau.

Maybe Pau was just being literal saying: I'm glad kobe is actually willing to pass the ball to someone on the team.
I honestly think thats what he meant, especially after going from Metta's first year here when Kobe litearally refused to pass him the ball, to the last week metta played putting up 20 pts every other game.
