Whos in the most trouble right now? Lakers/Clips/Heat

Post#1 » by Tee212 » Fri May 18, 2012 4:44 am

Honestly our last game proved to me at least we have a chance. The clips show no signs and the heat have no bigs to rebound. What do you guys think? 8-)

Lakers. Those teams are young and can improve as the series progresses. Just wait and watch how ugly the back to back games are gonna make us look.

Of your 3 choices, I think the Clippers are in the most trouble. With Chris Paul's strained right hip flexor clearly affecting his play (13 turnovers the past two games), along with injuries to Butler and Griffin, the Clippers will be lucky to win a game in the series. Along DeAndre being ineffective as a defensive presence and the lack of any consistent post scoring, the Clippers don't have much going for them at the moment.

Lakers still have a chance, as long as they play like they did the last game.

I think the Heat can still beat the Pacers even without Bosh. James and Wade are too good to lose to them.

From the media's point of view I would have to say the Heat.
There expectations were much more higher this season than the Lakers on the fact they made the Finals last season being the first year their Big 3 was assembled.

The Lakers Management throughout the years aren't
one to panic when it comes to making moves.
Might not the be same case for the Heat
this off summer if they get knocked out again.

As for the Clippers, It's a successful season win or lose this series.
A much more positive note compared to what there
normally used to doing this time of the year.

How can the Heat be in more trouble than the Lakers?

Yes they're missing Bosh but:
-They already won a game. They barely lost another and they got blown out. Lakers got blown out and barely lost one. Being 1-2 is better than being 0-2 and going for 1-2.
-They have 2 of the best players in the league, and Pacers don't have a single top 10, maybe even top 20 player. Pacers are a good team and could (should) win the series, but stars in this league can get it done. Compare that to our series where we have stars vs stars.
-They have the MVP in Lebron James. Gamechanger. Even if you think he's the biggest choker ever.. his 3 qtrs can be much, much better (stats, efficiency, defense, etc etc) than Kobe's full games. And if you look at last night, hell he choked less than Kobe.
-Pacers are missing clutch players (choked game 1, tried to choke 2, blowout in 3rd.. Granger isn't reliable in the clutch these days and no one else is proven). OKC has Westbrook who's been clutch this year, Harden has been super clutch, and of course KD.
-Our best player is older... and this back to back coming up isn't gonna help things.

Lakers are in way more trouble than the Heat, I don't see any way you can argue otherwise. No Bosh hurts them a lot (hence why they can lose the series), but being down 0-2 and just being pathetic in Game 1 and in the last 2min of Game 2 put us in much bigger trouble.

Clippers are in the most trouble because San Antonio is the best team in the league, and I just don't think Clips are that good a team.

some valid points ^ but i do agree with all the expectation on the heats since they were one of the favorites to win it all and all the pressure from the media. They have more to lose but on the other hand pressure is also on the lakers as well. 2 more loses and this team might just blow up this summer, there will be changes! and fingers pointing.

Clippers and Lakers.

Lakers have a back to back. The young guys will play better on a b2b.

Heat are only down 2-1 w/ 2 games left at home. And if Wade&LeBron can't go 3-1 against the Pacers, then they - well - they are squandering their talent. I'd rather try to go 3-1 vs. Pacers w/o Gasol then go 4-1 vs. Thunder w/ a b2b.

Lakers. Now have to beat okc 4 outta 5. Hope I wrong, but looks like possible sweep back to back years. I like hill, but not getting Beasley or Crawford to add another guy who can get his own shot is really gonna be the downfall to this series. It's a shame too, cuz I think la could take any of the other 6 teams in a 7gm series.

Clippers are done. They dont have the experience to play against the physical spurs in the playoffs. More than likely they will be swept.

Heat are close to being done. The lack of bigs is killing them. Now your seeing their coach has no respect. When the coach is getting no respect from his players that's a HUGE sign your in trouble!

Lakers can come back From being in the hole because they have three all-stars that have experience. Granted Bynum isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but he is still very big and can dominate at times.
Add to the fact lakers are a very good home team this year. I can see the series 2-2 after the lakers home stand!

1. Lakers (mean the most to me personally)
2. Heat (have the biggest expectations of the three teams)
3. Clippers (really did anyone actually think that they would win anything more than one playoff series?)

Lakers are number one in my book because I could care less about any other team. We have shown that we can play and put ourselves in a position to win so that is a plus, but not pulling out a win in game two hurt pretty bad but the fat lady is only drinking her warm tea right now.

The Heat are facing a TEAM not just a bunch of good players, and a team that has been turning it on at the right time. The Pacers may not have a Lebron type player but they do have a really good center and a bunch of players that play with heart. For me even though granger hasn't been playing as well as I think that he can his blatant hatred towards Lebron is fun to watch. You can tell he doesn't respect him and hates the fact that the ref's will give Lebron ticky tack fouls so he is definately making his fouls count.

The Clippers are facing the best team in the west and they look horrible on defense. Their offense has come to a screeching halt now that CP3 is hurting and Blake is not being able to do what he wants and he is visibly frustrated. Butler has a broken hand, D'Andre is doing what he can on defense but the hack a jordan is working and it seems to be frustrating flop city.

Lakers must get this next game tonight!

as far as the playoff series go,

1. clippers
- they're just far too inferior to the spurs. this will probably be a sweep. the spurs have the easiest road carved for the title this year. the jazz were perhaps more of a threat to the spurs in the 1st round than the clippers will be in the 2nd round.

2. lakers
-to start, they're down 0-2. they played a great defensive game in game 2 and blew out on offense. probably the only team in left in the playoffs that can't find a 'balance'. most bipolar team left, which isn't good. mike brown really doesn't have a clue to what he's doing. (but i give him respect for game 2)

3. 76ers
- they won't beat the celtics, but they'll put up a mean fight. the series will probably go to 6 games, maybe 7. but KG is playing some prime twolves era ball right now. if he continues that, the C's might be the favorites to win it all along with the spurs. the 76ers are only a bump in the road for them.

4. Heat/Pacers
- of all the teams with a losing record remaining in the playoffs, the miami heat is the only team thats capable of pulling out and winning the series. wade had an awful game 3. that won't happen again. the pacers are playing amazing basketball right now, probably the best they can possibly play. this will be the most exciting series to watch but the edge still goes to miami, despite them being down 2-1.

The Clippers never had much chance of beating the Spurs with how they've been playing and with LAC's injuries...

The Lakers had a solid chance of beating OKC...

Neither has much chance coming back and winning the series.

But of the Two, I could see the Lakers coming back as a slightly higher possibility than the Clippers...

And Miami has a clear shot at beating Philly... Even without Bosh...

So between 2 doomed teams, the Lakers I think are slightly less doomed.

Still think it's Miami, because they're in a completely different kind of trouble outside of losing a playoff series. Granted, Bosh's injury is a killer. But if they go down in the second round, all that pressure they're under to not only win but be a dynasty is going to mount exponentially.

Suddenly their championship pedigree, which was a foregone conclusion, is looking pretty bleak, especially with good young teams like OKC and Indiana coming up and Wade potentially on the decline. You could be looking at a wholesale implosion on a historic level.

And then LeBron...I couldn't even imagine what would be going through his head.

Good point... The Heat are going to look pretty foolish if they don't come back.

That team is going to go from 'rock solid' to 'blow it up' faster than maybe any team ever...

Too much being made of the back to back, Most of our b2b's come with travel, this one is way different. That second game just has to be played with some grit and passion.

What needs to happen is we beat the hell out of them tonight. We need to beat them so bad that they'll start thinking about going back to Oklahoma during halftime.
