Who do you want back next season?
Keepers: Kobe,Bynum,Hill
Trade: Gasol (Will be interesting to see what teams offer),Artest (if you can find a SUCKER to take him),Sessions ( I'm starting to doubt he's a starting point guard).
Everyone else is expendable. Will be a very interesting off season. Mitch will earn his $$$$ this summer.

Re: Who do you want back next season?
from what i've seen this season, its safe to say that gasol is our trade bait of the offseason. I've had his back the most around here, and i still love his game a lot but now he's had 2 consecutive seasons where he's just 'average'...mike browns coaching is probably a part of it too but i think gasol is on the decline for sure.
as for bynum, he's really turned his career around but you know what, dwight is better and this offseason will probably be our highest chances of landing him straight up.
kobe, artest, blake, sessions, hill are all keepers.
its a pity that this team is stacked with a pool of talent. too bad they're just too old now. the one player who isn't old is too immature. like i said before, NO BALANCE!

Re: Who do you want back next season?
I said before either Pau or Bynum needs to be moved, but with Pau playing like this he has to be moved no matter what, which means we keep Bynum, evaluate him for one more year before we decide which direction we will go.
Kobe should also be moved if the price is right, but since no team is going to structure a package that can match 28 mil in salary the Lakers is better off not trying.

Re: Who do you want back next season?
PLAYERS TO KEEP: Kobe, Bynum, Hill, Sessions, Metta
Kobe is Kobe
Bynum is our 24 year old C with much talent but with much to learn, if we can somehow get Dwight though, we shouldn't even hesitate.
Hill has crazy energy and hustle off the bench, rebounds, plays defense, and gets us extra offensive possesions by hustling for the ball off a miss.
Sessions had a rough start to the playoffs but also did come up big with that shot in Denver, has been playing better these past few games that Mike Brown gave him the green light, he will be an even better fit with a full season with the team (training camp, practice time)
Metta is still our best defender and isn't afraid to take shots unlike everyone in our team, I would not mind having him back.
PLAYERS WHO SHOULD REALLY BE GONE: Pau, Barnes, Murphy
BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL TRASH!
Pau should get us some nice role players off the bench
ALSO: Management needs to realize we are an old team, we need shooters, look at the Spurs and their shooters. The team needs to get younger, perhaps Beasley is an option.
Anyway, those are my views.

Re: Who do you want back next season?
Kobe's not going anywhere, so whether anyone wants him or not is irrelevant.
Artest still brings it defensively and is a competitor, and using the amnesty on him would be a waste. He's a keeper.
Hill has proven his worth in my book and needs to be resigned. He's a solid backup.
I'm not so sure about Barnes at this point. I think it's time to part ways and let Ebanks develop. Ebanks can be a solid defensive player and if he continues to develop his outside shot then he'll be more than adequate off the bench.
Sessions is probably a keeper, but only as a reserve. I don't like him in the starting lineup and our bench needs to be shored up so that our aging starters can get more rest and close out games properly -- especially Kobe.
Goudelock is another guy that we need to retain and develop as a bench player, especially since he's one of the few guys on the team that can actually shoot.
Murphy and Caracter can be cut loose.
One of Gasol and Bynum definitely needs to go at this point. If we can get Howard for both then I'd do that in a heartbeat assuming he commits. After that I'd make a strong push for Steve Nash and bring back Odom for the min to shore up the FC. I would also explore a Bynum + Blake for Bogut + filler type trade if we don't have any takers for Pau.

happy with kobe, sessions, hill, and bynum (unless we can get D12). the rest should either be traded or killed (whichever requires less legal work), mike "meatball" brown included.
oh and somebody bitchslap gasol all the way back to barcelona.

I hope that we keep Gasol. While he is our biggest trade chip I think it would be better to keep him unless we get blown away with an offer. If we trade Gasol we won't get fair value back in return and we will hurt our chances of winning. I think that we should keep our core players like Kobe,Bynum,Gasol,Sessions,Metta,Hill and add a someone to the bench who can score and shoot the 3(Beasley maybe). After next year I could see us trading Gasol as the new luxury tax kicks in but I believe we should make one more run with our core group next year.

Re: Who do you want back next season?
Kobe(don't have a choice)
Bynum(if we don't get Dwight)
MWP(changed my opinion about him as the season progressed....when he's in game shape he's not that bad)
Hill & Sessions( resigned but not overspending....if a team overpays for them they can go)
Goudelock and Ebanks because they come cheap....better them than some old farts who command more with the vet min
Barnes if he accepts the same kind of salary(I said awhile ago when he was killing it that he deserves 3 mil per.....I changed my mind, his play lately doesn't warrant that money, although I'm sure he's limited because of the injury)
All of them can stay
Pau obviously must go....Let's temper our expectations and get real,no one is giving us a star in return for a 32 yr old softie with 40 mil left for 2 years, after sucking 2 years in a row in the playoffs
If we get 2 or 3 average starters or some picks for him we must jump on the offer
At this point,if no one's biting I'd consider using the amnesty on him or simply dump him for expirings or cap relief..we need the money to give Drew an extension if the Dwight sweepstakes don't go right
Gives us flexibility too,if we land a good player via trade we don't have to worry about the salary as much as we did at this deadline(aquiring players but dumping salaries in return)...Beasley could have been added earlier this season for nothing but the FO were worried about adding too much salary
If we get rid of 20 mil we don't have this problem anymore
I'm done with Pau,I want him out now
Blake can go,I'm not buying the hype ,1 or 2 good games once in a while doesn't negate months of suckiness...don't think we can find a taker without giving a pick though
Murphy,Eyenga and Morris obviously gone
McBob is useless if we resign Hill and get another big in the Pau trade....I'm sure we could find a taker for him
Oh yeah,we got to get rid of Mike Brown as well
Jerry Sloan anyone?I'm sure he'll at least give it a thought if we were interested

then who guards KD and Lebron if we ever match up against the Heat? We need MWP on D. I'd say the exact opposite in fact. For the right player in return Pau can go, we need someone with some gritiness at 4, Pau plays like a woman half the time.

Every position on this roster other than SG must be re-evaluated at seasons end.

I want Derrick Williams for Gasol plus some filler. You alleviate the Laker's incoming tax problem in one year and you give them a SF like PF that can play at the three-point line, cut and give the Lakers some speed. I really like his game.
