Still would rather have him than Bynum. At least you're guaranteed to get his all, well what is left of him. Him and his doctors seemed pretty confident in a return to form, so I'd roll the dice.

But Orlando firing Stan Van shows they're caving into Dwight's wants so there's a chance he stays in Orlando now.

They're both risky investments, Howard and his back and Bynum with his knees. Let us not act like Bynum is a walking clean bill of health, I'm not convinced that he can keep up what he did this season. You aren't going to hear players wanting to come to LA to play with Bynum, you would for Howard.

oh im not..ill just take the glass jam i know, versus the one i dont...

and yeah they aint coming for brown either, which is goal number one...and the real above surface problem...

as i think you said, maybe not, brown should be using gasol in the lamar role, captain of the second unit/first sub unit...

as long as kobe is on the lakers, the offense will remain consistent. no ifs, ands or buts..the offense is running through him at all times. we don't need an x's and o's coach. we need a hard nosed coach with a mental approach to the game, like phil jackson. and it doesn't get any more hard nosed than jerry sloan.

this isn't stan van gunny's first run in with a superstar player. before dwight, it was shaq and wade in miami. what makes you think he can get into kobe's thick head?

id like to see van gundy on the lakers bench. but not necessarily stan. ive always been a jeff van gundy fan. the guy knows how to make in game adjustments and has always been an avid supporter of team d. im pretty sure kobes on record saying hed be ok with jvg as a head coach. chances he leaves his pampered gig as a sports announcer? slim to none.

a head coach on the kobe bryant lakers is not there for kobe bryant, he is there for the rest of the roster, and to make them co-exist and compliment kobe...sucks, but thats how it is, and why brown is the wrong guy...

brown was just the wrong guy to begin with. he was a known defensive coach, a pretty good one at that. but he obviously lacked any sort of offensive scheme. it seemed like a rushed decision by lakers management, especially with quality coaches jobless at the time. mother f***ing adleman!!!! but the lakers took the gamble, and it paid off on one side of the court. brown did improve the defense, and when players didnt follow his defensive game plan, he had no reservation about letting them know, or even taking them out at some points. but offensively..... iso's iso's iso's iso's. :( we were only going to go so far playing kobe 40 minutes a game all season. fatigue set in. and now were down 1-3 in the 2nd round. id love to keep brown on as an asst coach/ defensive specialist. but as head coach.... i know the lakers can do better

Why should we have gotten Byron Scott, we were just coming off a season where he coached a team to one of the worst records in basketball history. And word is Shaw is being seriously considered for the Magic head coach vacancy.

Not to mention that cp3 and Scott hate each other , cp3s quitting on Scott in the playoffs a few years back is why I don't like cp3.

That said , Ive been adamant about keeping Byron far away from this team... But in light of mike brown, I'd rethink that position... Thing is , Byron is the anti mike brown ; a slave driving task master... Both would be short tenured, I think...

Did not like the way M. Brown babied Kobe for taking bad shot's then took it back and say he was wrong. Blamed Bynum on a lot of things and used him as a scapegoat.

Played Kobe waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many minutes during the season and did not develop his bench.

He's not a bad guy, but he's a bad coach.
