An article on the wiretap says that Lowry might want out of Houston hey how fast can the Lakers ship Pau/Sessions to Houston for Lowry/Scola/Lee. THats the best trade involving Pau outside of getting a guy like Deron or Dwight the Lakers will get a PG, a good PF and a 6th man out of it. Do it Mitch!!

Id imagine it would depend on if they were able to resign Dragic and Session opts in.

CJ Watson, Hamilton, and Kyle Korver.

I hope "Matin" isn't Kevin Martin because he makes 12m per yr Lakers aren't going to want a guy making that much coming off their bench. And if the Lakers make a Pau trade with the Rockets I doubt they'll trade Bynum for anyone.

Lakers want to trade Pau or AB for cap room. Lakers can not afford to add payroll.

Would not be happy with any trade where we'd have to take in Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin coming off the bench as a 6th man would be epic. Yeah we would be paying him big money but he might be the scorer we need off the bench. I'd be down with a Pau/Blake/Josh for Lowry/Kevin/Scola deal, they probably wouldn't though.

K-Mart is a great scorer with no defense and not sure if he's even played a full entire season yet.
The Injury bug has hit him unfortunately all throughout his career, but having him off the bench would be a low risk high reward scenario. Too bad he costs a bit too much as well.

I'm hoping if their is any way the Lakers were to spend a good amount of $$$ to upgrade our bench we would go after Harrington , Redd, Ariza , and L.O.

Scola is empty numbers by and large, you trade Gasol for him and Brooks, I promise you the Rockets finish with about 50 wins next year, while the Lakers struggle to get that many. It'll be 2005 all over again.

perhaps the reason some of us actually like scola is because he burns us a lot when the lakers play the rox

same thing with dragic

Because Gasol should be playing mostly C at this point in his career, not PF, or the coach should be able to adjust (for instance, putting a quicker guy on him like Odom... oh wait, never mind). Lowry burns you because you have had pretty mediocre PG's lately. Flaws in your coaching and team design are a bad basis to acquire 2 guys who are far less talented and impactful than Pau can be.

Lowry burned a lot of the league before his illness. On my fantasy league team he was putting up mini-LBJ numbers (had them both).

Sessions is almost as good as Dragic or Lowry. They are almost at the same level.

Lowry has pretty strong upper body strength. He can defend the 2 guard position. Very hard nose tough defender who can pass, score, and rebound. He's more of a complete player probably near the level of Jason Kidd.

Jason Kidd?

First of all, Lowry is nowhere close to Jason Kidd. He's a decent rebounding point guard. He doesn't do anything great or elite, which is a problem if he's going to play next to Kobe and Bynum.

But Lowry is a good point guard. Not a franchise player, not somebody that's worth Gasol (even now). Reading between the lines, McHale might have asked Lowry to come off the bench for Dragic, as the Rockets and Dragic are probably negotiating a contract. I don't blame the Rockets, Dragic is a better player.

One thing: I highly doubt the Lakers take back Scola. He is signed through 2015, and staring 2013-14, that's the killer year when we'll get hit triple luxury tax. No way the Lakers would eat $60 million for Scola those 2 years.

I doubt the Lakers take on any contracts past 2013 unless they are guys on a rookie contract or paid very little.

Maybe they also take Kevin Martin for a yearly rental, to help keep the Lakers competitive for next season.

Either way, I can see the Lakers trading Gasol for Lowry, and their 14th pick, which would be more valuable to the Lakers than anything else on Houston's roster.
