with the new rules, it just seems appropriate the Lakers be owned by a company or real rich owners like the Dodgers have.

You can't put a bad team in a Laker uniform without Kobe and charge 10,000 for court side seats.

It just makes sense they cash in their chips now. With Jerry getting very old. You really can't put a competitive team out there without paying the tax.

For example say doomsday comes and kobe was cut. And they traded Pau Gasol for a draft pick. They still would be 3 million under the cap with just Bynum and crap.

They have to look at this realistically and sell, or pay the 80 million in taxes.
