I remember...

Austin? No

Perry Jones. Yes

If we get 2 picks in top 20 - PJ3 or Moultrie and Ross or Terrence Jones

I can't remember (which may be my answer) but do the Lakers usually announce who they're going to work out or do we tend to find out about it later... Like rumors.

We don't even have picks half the time. And no, which is why us selecting Goudelock was such a surprise last year.

They have had players in for workouts. I know one was Pitt's Ashton Gibbs. Other than that, I do not recall a few other names I had heard before.

I do recall that the list was guys you might figure they are looking at with the 60th pick.

Some have said they may try to buy a first rounder this year, but with all the cap and luxury tax issues, I do not see that happening.

Maybe not outright buying a pick, but trading for one might make sense in the new tax environment...

But of the contracts that might make sense to dump for a pick, Pau, MWP, Blake... Would anybody in this draft be worth Pau, and would anybody want MWP or Blake.

I could see it happening this season, but it still seems like a massive long-shot.

Maybe trade Pau to GSW for Jefferson and #7, and use the pick on Sullinger like projected? Don't really want RJ but we'd have to take back some salary and RJ is probably more productive than any of the other high salary contracts in GS... Lee is on a 5 yr contract at age 31...

We would probably draft more PGs or shooters we won't even use like Goudelock

You can find news through blogs/tweets/videos usually. Since the Lakers don't have many picks, I don't think there's going to be a lot of news as compared to other teams like the Warriors.

NBA Draft

The odds of the 60th pick in the draft making the team are slim. The Lakers will take the best player left on the board and really there’s no point in even guessing who that might be.

Some of the names linked to the Lakers via workout include: Jet Chang, Marcus Denmon, Charlie Westbrook, Tu Holloway, Ashton Gibbs, Mike Scott and Eric Griffin

LA may look to trade into the first or for a higher second-round pick but there’s no suggestion as of yet that they will.

Here's some videos I've found of players in LA. Jet Chang in a previous workout, not sure if it was for the Lakers, looks like possibly the Clippers based on those colors, but the info says it was in LA.

Here's also a list of Workouts for NBA teams.

8-).

Seriously though, I don't want GIbbs. Has the work ethic for sure (like every other Big East guard), but not the physical gifts needed. Scottie Reynolds (from Villanova last year) was a much better prospect/player and although he was in the D-League all-star game last year according to Wiki, he hasn't had much early success in Europe or the NBA.

GEK, I hear ya and agree. Ashton isn't necessarily a good projection for the Lakers, but I hope a Panther lands somewhere and makes a go of it.

I think the Lakers ought to go for a Euro that they can retain the rights to and bring in in a couple of years as a part of the rebuild possibly.

Lakers gave up there picks to save money. So that tells us they will look, but no first round picks will be on the Lakers roster for the 5th straight year. Which sucks, this team will not get younger by staying with the players we have.

They did get younger with the Sessions and Hill trades, not to mention having Goudelock, Ariza, Morris, and McRoberts on the roster. You can get younger without using first round picks.

Maybe trade session or Hill for a mid round pick. Or something to get a player.
