He's willing to pay that salary range? If you're talking about keeping the roster together than the key is to find a floor spacing PF, a combo forward, and resigning Sessions all the while dropping salary.

A S and T for Beasley, signing Brandon Roy, and having Goudelock develop as the backup scoring PG is a pretty easy way to do all that. Then you have to find a taker for Blake and that's pretty much it.

No major changes doesn't mean no changes. Lakers def have some holes to fill on that roster, there's no need for them to blow up their core yet. Boston was 1 game away from making the finals, no reason why they can't make a strong run at it next year with a few tweeks to the roster.

Have to look at how the team looks against the Thunder it's as simple as that. The Thunder won't improve drastically in one year, so if you're able to replace Steve Blake and Matt Barnes with improvements, while improving the fit of the rest of the team (a floor spacer in Beasley with the bigs), you have a good chance against them (not to mention for God sake go get HC).

Well a trade of some sort will have to happen to open cap space to sign improvements....

Breath easy man........it's a long off season, why the rush ?

Like stunnar0b said as long as Beasley is added here some way I'm good with it too. But it's way too early to panic fellas, we'll make some moves the Lakers have never rushed things.

I don't think Jim is going to trade our "core". Kobe, Pay and Bynum are definently staying unless Deron/Dwight come into play. Honestly, I think this team would be fine with just "small" upgrades at the SF spot and the bench.

A small upgrade is going mean a trade.

I would be ok with no major changes as long as we can improve the bench. We could have very well been up 3-1 against OKC and went on to win the series. No team can matchup with our size but we didn't utilize it correctly. I think if we would have had a normal 82 game season with a full training camp and more practices we would have seen a different end result.

Gasol clearly struggled last season as he was constantly in trade rumors and never was fully engaged. Gasol also struggled as he was the third option with Bynum's emergence and was forced further out of the paint. Gasol is very unselfish almost to a fault and needs more touches in the paint to be aggressive and make plays for himself and others. I think Gasol should play more in the low post because he is a great passer and knows how to read double teams.

If we can get add some shooters and some more scoring off the bench and keep the core together I think that we could win it all next year. Keeping Gasol gives us the best chance to win which is important as Kobe has only 2-3 really good seasons left in him. It would mean paying a lot of salary but I believe we would pay more if it meant winning a championship.

I wish he would just keep quiet.
Buss (and Kobe for that matter) cannot possibly believe that this roster is a contending roster.
The bench was weak.
There was very little production from the PG position.
And playing Pau the way they did clearly did not work.
And frankly, Brown did not do a fantastic job, like Buss is claiming.
Standing pat on an aging team is horrible strategy, although it would make sense for a younger maturing team.

I believe it is. no one saw the CP3 deal last season. shows that FO can pull-off blockbuster moves without any sign of them making one.

This.

It's not like training camp opens tomorrow. Moves will be made, and it's too early to panic.

Pau will be traded for 3 players.. We have 7 players under contract & need a decent PG & a PF that will complement Bynum... He is attempting to create leverage...
