How does sessions trade look now?
You traded Sessions, who looks to be going this offseason, for a pick that could have been used to obtain a useful young player. How are you feeling about this trade?

We coulda had perry jones... It was a terrible move. The fact that the thunder took him, knee problem or not, was a genious move, the best team just got better. And were still standing there with our...in our hands

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
i'm very much a fan of the trade since i think all signs point to sessions wanting to be back and the lakers wanting him back.
this thread is probably better served if he actually signs elsewhere.

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
It was a weak draft.
Sessions is probably better than just about anyone outside of the top 5 in this draft anyway... So yeah, it was a good trade.

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
We have to discuss this if & when Sessions comes back or if he leaves. Also its a bit premature because we need to give him a full season & practice to see what he either brings or doesn't bring.

How does sessions trade look now?
Luke would be expiring this year. More valuable. It's too early to judge the sessions trade though unless he leaves this off season.

Lmao no he's not, Kendall Marshall, Maurice Harkless, are players off the top of my head without even looking at the draft list that I'd rather have over Sessions. And before someone comes in and says it, I don't want to hear any of this "well it's how they had him play", because if that's the case then what makes you think it's going to change for this upcoming season? Steve Blake outplayed the guy ffs.
That question wasn't directed at you btw it's just some person is going to quote me and put that, so I wanted to beat them to the punch. But the only good thing about the trade is what's been quoted numerous times already.

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
If the coaching staff would of never neutered Sessions' game this wouldn't even be a question. The guy was great up until they had him "slow it down" turning him into Steve Blake without the streaky outside shot(and therefore allowing Blake to "outplay" him).
If our frontcourt is the same(Pau and Bynum) he'll have to come off the bench to be effective. If we can move Pau for a more athletic and younger PF we'll be able to use Sessions like we did the first month of his time as a Laker.
As for comparing Sessions to this draft class, it would help if you'd only look at those who would actually be available at the 24th pick. Tony Wroten Jr went 25th, Marques Teague went 30th, we'll see next year if either of them have a better season than Sessions.

That poster said Sessions wouldn't be better than anyone outside of the top 5, so I named talent outside of the top 5. You don't know what we could've done had he had our 1st rounder, there's no telling if Pau had been traded and pieces had been packaged with that pick to move up or what. But regardless, he was talking about talent outside of the top 5 and I just named the two I could remember at that moment.
As far as Sessions, like you said the only way he'll truly be effective is if he comes off the bench. And there's no need for quotation marks around the word outplay, because that's what happened. Steve Blake was the reason we ultimately got past Denver with his lights out shooting and saved us from an embarrassing first round exit, where was Sessions?
Like I said I guess the shedding salary effort alone was worth it, Sessions? Whatever. I'm indifferent. Sort of.

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
Got Lake show into playoffs. Not Lakers fault that he thinks he is better than he really is. If it is not with the Lakers, then they will go another direction and find a PG. Pass is the pass, just now have to move onto the future. Wish he would have come back. He is now a greedy person...

Re: How does sessions trade look now?
With the complete lack of trades that took place yesterday, I wouldn't use "we could of moved up" as a argument. I understand your quoting of the person who said outside the top 5, Im just saying if we want to be objective about comparing the deal we need to use people who would of been available.
On Sessions potential effectiveness, all we need to do is move one of Pau or Bynum for a quicker FC running mate and he'll be fine as a starter. If we stay the same in the FC then Blake should start since the coaching staff won't allow Sessions to play to his strengths with 2 plodding 7 footers. The reason the quotes were there is the deck was stacked against him, it's easy to "outplay" someone when the coaching staff plays to your strengths and against the strengths of the guy you're competing with for time.
