The power forward posistion and Pointguard

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Sun Jul 1, 2012 2:17 am

Ok so thought I’d post this and see who you all think we should get at the power forward position and point guard spot…

Power Forward Position:

Do we keep Pau Gasol or do we trade him while we can and get rid of that contract?

Who should we pick up/trade for? A possible 3 guys “I’d” like to see in our
Team

1. Josh Smith – is the latest RUMOR, is a trade for Gasol.

Why we should do this?
Cash: Gasol is due to make $19 mill this year I believe and Smith is making “around” $14mil that will save us $5mil and we could also use the LLE @ $3mill to make a mean 9 mill to make a run for Jose Calderon

Age difference: Gasol is turning 32 and would suit best on a young Atlanta team and smith I “believe” is 26 that’s 6 years difference
Athletic: Smith’s athletic ability would suit best for us instead of Wright or Scola.

Atlanta: “RUMOR?” has it that Josh smith wants out of Atlanta and I feel Pau would be best option for them, they still get someone who can score and rebound and on a team of hawks he’d be a monster? Also still has a good 3-5? Years on him despite what you all think

2. Luis Scola
3. Dorell Wright

The point guard position:
As you all know we are really lacking in the point guard area and so thought I’d share my thoughts on this area as well.

1. Jose Calderon
2. Kyle Lowry
2. Goran Dragic

Deron Williams will be signing with Nets or possibly Mavericks with J.Kidd so we don’t have a chance their.

(No particular order)

The Howard/Bynum saga continues…

Lakers Get: Dwight Howard
Orlando Get: Andrew Bynum and possibly S. Blake???

Even though the Lakers have just resigned Bynum I feel they still might trade him for Howard and here is my thoughts on why…

Magic: They get some one in return for Dwight without the risk of losing him for nothing and get a younger version of him (Yes I realise what I said lol) who will shine in Orlando – by being the main go to man.

Bynum wants to be the main go to guy and in Orlando he will get the chance to do just that and will easily be a 20/10 guy and still be an allstar

Lakers: “Dwight Howard wants to ‘win now and not later’ and unless the Magic can get another superstar b4 the season starts I feel Howard will be traded”

Bynum for Howard straight up seems like a fair deal to me but I could be wrong – Maybe add S. Blake in the deal as well – which would save us more room for Howard

If we do end up doing this; do we have enough cap space to sign a decent point guard and power forward?

Lakers team would be
C: Bynum/Howard
PF: Gasol/Smith/Scola/Wright
SF: MWP
SG: K. Bryant
PG: Calderon/Lowry/Dragic

My Other thoughts: The Lakers really need to resign Sessions and M. Barns and give Barns more playing time he is a great player but just doesn’t get enough time. Same goes with Goudelock and give Jordan Hill and T. Murphy more playing time as well. I would also love to see S. Blake get traded as all he does is stand on the 3point line and shoot and doesn’t defend well enough.

Note to everyone: I haven’t done any research on cap space or anything like that I’m just pointing out what I’m seeing around the NBA atm and who could wind up where and are also a lot of the guys one who all of you are saying as well.

So go ahead and criticize and write down who you think we should have as a power forward/point guard spot

The new team I’d like to see next year :<)
Line up:
C: Howard
PF: Josh Smith
SF: MWP
SG: Bryant
PG: Calderon
Bench:
C: Murhpy/J.HIll
PF: Ebanks/Mcroberts
SF: Barns/C. Eyanga
SG: C. Eyanga/S.Blake = we need a back up for Kobe
PG: R.Sessions is a great reserve for Lakers but not a starter/ Goudelock
“Doubt it would be possible to get both, Smith and Calderon but, maybe with the departure of Pau Gasol’s contract we might be able to make it happen???”

Let the critics begin 

I would only trade Pau gasol for Josh smith if we are getting Jeff Teague + Josh smith (dunno how salaries would fi), then get Beasley/Nick Young

Jeff Teague
Kobe Bryant / Nick Young
Beasley
Josh Smith
Bynum

doubt it happens tho LOL
