Beasley Declined QO from Wolves

Post#1 » by ALL HAIL » Sun Jul 1, 2012 2:24 am

For all those Beasley enthusiasts.

Beasley is officially a free agent.

He'd look really good next to Bynum.

Barring any trades, do you all think he'd come here for the MMLE (3 million per for 2 years)?

Rumor has it that Minny would love to have Jordan Hill for Beasley in a S&T, but the Lakers need to sign Jordan Hill too (for a similar deal).

If Beasley comes, as far as I'm concerned, he needs to come for the MMLE. He knows the Lakers want him badly, he knows he'll have a large role, and he knows the Lakers are a first class organization.

Will he take 3 million a year for two years? ... or am I just trippin to think he'd come here on discount.

I don't think he'll come here for our MMLE but I sure hope so.

I respect your opinion and if I were gambling, I 'd definitely bet that he would NOT take the MMLE as well, however, the real question for me is:

What team will give him more money and an actual role in which he could thrive?

I can't think of any. I can think of many that could pay him more, but none that will put him in a position to really succeed.

If I were him, and Pau Gasol had been traded, I'd come here for the MMLE in a second to be the second or third most important bigman on this team ... but that's just me.

Beasley is at a point in his career where he has to step up and step up big. He should realize he needs to be on a playoff type team that's capable of making a decent run. We present that opportunity. The money should be the last thing at the moment, the MMLE is all he can garner from contending type teams anyway. Yeah it's some team that will give him the full MLE, but it's going to be a non playoff team.

Mike should want to come here, out perform that measly MMLE deal then sign a pretty decent deal. Mike should be smart enough to know it's a huge role waiting for him here, dude could seriously challenge for 6th man and MIP all in one season. I'd like to see Beas sign with us, but it lies with him.

Beasley should get himself as big a contract as he possibly can because this could be the last time that his "potential" has any value.

Word up Deep. You know I agree, but, unfortuantely, most of these dudes listen to their greedy, dumbass agents.

Thesmartest thing Beasley could do is to go to the team that needs his talents the most and can offer him a substantial role ... Lakers fit that bill ... any others? ... maybe any team that gets Dwight Howard as well.

And the Wolves could've had a first round pick for this guy... fail on their part.

Suns President Lon Babby, GM Lance Blanks and coach Alvin Gentry flew to L.A. on Sunday to meet with free-agent forward Michael Beasley, as well as the team's own restricted free-agent Robin Lopez.

they didn't want to absorb fisher, had nothing to do with valuing beasley too high.

If he came here for the MLE, thats fine by me. I would love to see him with 30 Mike's off the bench. Beasley and Hill would be a nice duo to watch as well. I would deal Gasol, McRoberts and Blake for Williams, Randolph(5 a year), Ridnour and Johnson.

For the last damn time. The Lakers cannot offer the MLE only the mini MLE which is 3 million a year. Beasley is probably not going to sign for that low and play on the bench when he can get a bigger paycheck elsewhere and start.

Regardless we are still not winning with this roster. Adding beasley won't do anything we need a major change. All this laker trade talk is so dissapointing.... hinrich, beasley, cmon man. We need a marquee player. It will be a sad 2nd round exit again if we do not get dwill or howard.

thats just how i see it.

he wouldn't want to come here anyways, I see him going to a team where he can start and be a #2 or even a #1 on a bad team where he can put up #'s and get a better 2nd contract.

I think you underrate how talented Beasley is, if LA manages to get Howard, Beasley at the 4 would stretch the floor something serious.

obviously with howard is another story. i feel if we swap bynum for howard and keep the same team we can win it. defensively there is a huge difference between howard and bynum. all we would need is guys that can hit open shots (ie anyone except metta)

Beasley is a moron. Move on, and don't look back.
