Grant Hill vs. Metta World Peace

Post#1 » by salmahayek » Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:24 pm

I'd like to have Hill off of the bench.

However, at this point, isn't Peace more reliable guarding a Durant or LeBron? Peace is also more durable.

MWP can't guard Durant and LeBron anymore... He's slowed down too much and they've figured him out.

That said, for me it's a toss-up. Hill would be new and would theoretically have a better shot... But MWP is more physical and shot pretty well for us when it counted.

Hill should be significantly cheaper though...

I don't really care... Sign either, it'll be interesting to see how it works out.

Suns free agent forward Grant Hill offered little at USA practice other than he's not retiring and he is considering the Lakers.

Assuming Hill at the vet min, he would be a cost saver.

Perhaps with Ebanks impending one - year deal, maybe the Lakers are planning on Hill and Ebanks sharing the three spot, with maybe a little Kobe mixed in depending on if we can land a legit backup two.

If the Lakers could move Sessions in a S&T, that could possibly open up some nice roster alternatives.

tough choice for me, I like Metta's enforcer presence but can sometimes cost us games, I like Grant's sweet sweet mid range and IQ.

I actually thought MWP did a pretty good job guarding Lebron last season but id prefer Ebanks on Durant because hes longer and more athletic.

Then again didnt MWP do a pretty good job on Durant before he tried to kill Harden?

this is a really tough choice. they play completely different games but ultimately come out with the same production.
MWP isn't a beast defensively anymore but he's still very well above average and he has that different mentality, so I think I'm sticking with him.

I wonder if that's why we all of a sudden decided we'd take on Jason Richardson?

All these fake accounts are becoming quite a nuisance. But at least it brings some excitement during these times of rumors. :P

Hill because Peace is clueless out there and isn't the defensive player he used to be.

Its amazing that we got Nash all of a sudden Grant Hill is a viable option for this team. KD would slaughter Grant Hill on offense. Atleast MWP brings toughness and defensive playmaking. You guys really underrate MWP contributions. He started the year horrible but his last 15 games and the playoffs were what we needed from him.
