Should we look at Ronnie Brewer?

The Bulls declined to pick up his option and amazingly he hasn't been picked up yet. Should we take a look at him? We got a good look at him from 2008-2010 in the playoffs when he was with the Jazz. Good to great perimeter defender, athletic, cuts well and can hit a three every now and then. He's twenty-seven so he's definitely younger than most of our team and can provide some real energy off the the bench.
Yay or Nay?

if hes really getting cut from the bulls and we can pick him up for what little money we have, then yes.
great man defender, long, nice rebounder, but like our other sf's, a weak 3 point shooter.

I figured we could work out a sign and trade, unless declining a team option negates that possibility.

With Grant Hill signing with the Clippers, I think this might become more likely.

Ronnie Brewer is a good player but not a need for LA. LA needs someone who can shoot as well as defend. Delonte West is the perfect bench PG for LA. Can run PnR well, shoot and well as good defensive playmaking ability.

Luke Walton is the best option since he is already familiar with the triangle.

He's too young. We only want those past their prime.

Yes. Brewer is a need. Lakers need to get more athletic and they need to start adding defensive minded guys. Plus with all the great passing that's gonna be going on somebody has to finish and Brewer is a great cutter/finisher in the paint... HIGH PERCENTAGE OFFENSE. So what if he can't shoot with range?... Brewer's defender still has to keep a body on him because he'll work his way behind the defense and score from in close if they don't. He did it all the time in CHI and Utah... teams that move the ball, which the Lakers should become once again. Brewer is also Ariza-like in that he can defend 3 positions and do it well.
Can they afford Brewer? He made 4 mill last year... the MMLE pays out 3.1mill. Yeh, they can afford him. Are they willing to open up their wallet and use the MMLE though? We'll see. Brewer would bring a lot to the team. And if Darius Morris does what I think he will, and takes Steve Blake's backup PG position, Brewer would be an athlete that can run with Morris. Morris does like to push it some... could do that with say a more mobile Pau/Hill combo up front, Jamison as the SF to trail/stretch, and Brewer filling lanes. And this as well... Brewer is a high-character guy. Coachable. Been well coached by Sloan and Thibs in his career thus far. A winner-type. At this stage of free agency every player has warts, but Brewer would be a great buy.

I agree that Brewer is a good fit for this roster (just posted on another thread), but totally disagree that Morris will be getting any minutes with the big club. I just don't see it. Wonder if the Bulls would be interested in a S&T with McBob coming back? Seems like they could use another big off the bench.

Ronnie is a good defender, but is a terrible shooter and provides next to nothing when it comes to floor spacing.

So the Knicks get this guy for the freakin' vet min?!? Mitch should have gotten this guy for that price, Brewer would have been a good piece off the bench and backing up Kobe at SG.

For the veteran minimum I wish we could have gotten him, hopefully Mitch has some other options.
