Josh Howard Still Available, Should LA Bite?

Post#1 » by GameSage » Sat Jul 21, 2012 9:45 pm

Josh Howard looked good the few times I saw him last year. He looks like his knees are not bothering him. Utah decided to give minutes to their younger players as they rebuild, so Josh is out of their plans. I saw flashes of the old Josh Howard minus the pot smoke last year. Do you think we should bring him to camp? I would, I think his game would fit in well.

Bring him in for a workout. Although even if he got on the team he'd be the likely 2nd man off the bench for his position.

He was pretty bad in Utah last year. They would be better off just bring Matt Barnes back in. LA is probably not looking to add anything else until this Howard trade is resolved. No point in adding players until they figure out who they are taking back afterwards.

It cant but in the scheme of things its pointless. If he looks good it doesnt change the way he performs on the court. Hell Arenas was doing alley opp tomahawk dunks in his workout. Workouts are for players that have come back from injury or they question whether or not you can still play at an NBA level, this isnt High School ball dude.

He's only expressed interest in playing for the Nets or going back to Russia. Getting him especially for 3 mil at this point is very unlikely. Doesnt seem like the guy to come play for pennies to begin with. Remember he left the NBA for a bigger pay day.

I doubt there will be many available minutes at SF. I am guessing KB24 will play a few and Jamison will likely get some minutes there as well, not to mention Ebanks. The available minutes are at backup SG. Can JH play any D?

Josh Howard is done, doubt he can be productive on a contending team.

I would say keep him in mind. As D12 takes to long. Lakers will soon just walk away from that and they might need one more player who might actually want to be here..

I would rather have GLock back up Kobe or bring back Barnes.

Why just spend money just to spend it? Even if it is a vet minimum. LA already have young SF's on the roster, why waste their development time bringing in a guy that cant even play but half a season healthy and when he is healthy he is a shell of himself. This isnt the 06 Josh Howard. He is 32 and is getting worse very fast.
