Antawn Jamison overlooked?

Seems to me like all the hype around Dwight Howard and Steve Nash is really putting Antawn Jamison in the backseat. I forgot he even got picked up by the Lakers.
I think he was the leading scorer of the Cavs last year, so he can obviously still put the ball in the basket.
Is he capable enough to fill the Lamar Odom void? 6th man of the year award? Does he get 25 minutes of burn each game?

Lamar closed games, he wasn't your typical bench player and I don't think Jamison will reach that level. We will close the game out with the starters. Can he be a semi-dependable scorer and floor spacer? Yes, definitely.
20 minutes is more likely, methinks.

He got picked for the minimum that should tell you why he was overlooked. I will be happy if he is any better than Murphy was last season.

He won't be closing games because of a defensive liability, but if he can score 7 off the bench per game that would be 7 we didnt have last year.

Keep in mind that one of the team's defensive minded starting forwards isn't exactly an intelligent player. There's going to be games where Brown has no choice but to close out with Jamison or someone else with Gasol and Howard.

Are you speaking about Ron Artest? You really think he has poor Bball IQ? Or are you talking about his intelligence in general? Either way you sound pretty stupid if so.

Stebo I know me and you had our riffs on the Dwight thing, but at least I wasn't being blatantly ignorant about it like these guys are about Ron. I with you on this bro. Some times I seriously question dudes ball IQ here some nights. All I see is guys saying "we need to get rid of Ron"...."amnesty Ron", it's just stupid. Especially when he was one of our better players coming down the stretch last season.

Jamison wasn't overlooked by myself, I'm ready for him to play for us and I think he will be a really good part of the team. He's not gonna be Odom but he'll be the best 6th man we've had in a while besides Odom. We now have a guy who can score off the bench and make things happen on his own, unlike guys like Blake, Barnes, etc etc who are basically useless unless you feed them the ball in their spots.

Everybody is overlooking Jamison due to the star power we got and due to his age.
I for one always bring him into the conversation of important players we have, dude averaged 17/6 last season being the focal point of the offense, here he will have a much more comfortable office to operate it.
6th man of the year is too much to ask from him, but I fully expect him to contribute to this team each & every night.

we just need his shot to fall to provide proper floor spacing, any finishing drives to the rim will be a bonus.

When he played with Nash he shot 40% from 3 so that again would be nice

He took a huge pay cut to play for us to try and win a ring, it had nothing to do with other teams not wanting him. The only reason he's not being highlighted by the media is we picked up a guy named Dwight Howard, hell even Nash hasn't had much run in the news recently due to D-12.
The guy put up 17 and 6 last year and we have people "hoping" he's better than Troy friggun Murphy?

he could be the starter for the start of the season. he is going to be a very important player for us, but he is not going to be the 6th man of the year.

yea it was only 1 season and it was a long time ago but a repeat of that from him would be nice, and his FG% was 5% higher than its been anywhere else.

He'll be great for those garbage put backs, cause i dont think we'll run any plays for him. he can stretch the floor letting howard go 1v1 freely.

Antawn by himself can carry the scoring load of the bench as he can score in bunches, he is a good rebounder too
But man, defensively... he will give up a lot of baskets

It's just going to be so nice to see the bench on the floor and the points going up

Is he really that bad on defense? I don't really know too much about him......
