Now that we have 4 legitimate all-stars i think the versatility of our team rivals that of 2009 when Lamar came off the bench. The only real guide line i think is that assuming we are healthy, that either Pau or Dwight should be on the floor at ALL times

Starting lineup:

Steve Nash
Kobe Bryant
Metta World Peace
Pau Gasol
Dwight Howard

I think our first 2 subs out of the game should be Pau and MWP for Jamison and Meeks/Ebanks (depending on matchups and need for floor spacing).

I think MWP and Pau playing with the second unit not only puts them at an advantage going against other bench players, but we also maximize Jamison's strengths putting him next to Dwight. We also allow Pau to guard the weaker of the opposing 4/5 and let Hill attack them defensively

Final lineup:

PG - Nash (33 mins) / Blake/Duhon (15 mins)
SG - Kobe (34 mins) / Meeks (14 mins)
SF - MWP (29 mins) / Ebanks (12 mins)
PF - Pau (35 mins) / Jamison (18 mins)

I think we should give our reserves more minutes and reduce some of the minutes of our older starters to keep them more fresh for a full 82 game season. I also have watched Chris Duhon play a lot, he is absolutely horrible and as bad as I think Steve Blake is, I think you would be painfully suprised as to how much worse Duhon is (he should not be aloud to even touch the lakers court as he brings 0 to nothing to a team), IMO the minutes should look more like this:

It should look something like this, I do not like the idea of giving Pau so much minutes after seeing him be so disappointing these past 2 postseasons, we need to rest him more so he can be fresh for the postseason , which is when it really counts. Our reserves all need more minutes this season so they can keep our starters fresh, and to also gain more confidence for when they sub-in during the postseason, this will allow them to perform much better when it really counts

this way we maximise the time nash and dwight are working against benches

I think our bigs are going to be a 3 man rotation when Dwight comes back. Also I believe Blake will play some SG this yr. Jamison will play some/alot of SF due to the fact that between Pau, Hill, and Clark...we are good at the PF spot.
So my thoughts on how the line up will be goes like this:

PG: Nash/ Blake/ Duhon
SG: Kobe /Meeks/ Blake
SF: Metta/ Jamison/ Ebanks
PF: Pau/ Hill/ Jamison/ Clark
C: Howard/ Pau/ Hill/ Clark

Earl Clark played alot of C in Orlando.

That looks about right, I think if Goudelock can improve (alot) defensively then he should get some PG minutes though, I like the fact he can shoot and you have to love that runner....

Idk how the rotations will work out but as far as min ill go with nash 28-30 kobe 30-32 artest 34-36 pau 34-36 and dwight around 38

Hmm maybe your right, I would take the extra minutes from Ebanks in order to give them to hill and Jaminson to make it fit accordingly .However, thats roughly what I think they should look like though .

That is also way to much minutes for Kobe (soon to be 34), and Gasol (soon to be 33) to play during the regular season. Don't give mike brown any ideas. During Phil Jackson's last year during his tenure as coach, he had a Kobe (32 years old), playing just 33 mpg, I would not raise his minutes as he gets older in age. Lastly, I also want Jordan hill to get much more minutes than 10mpg, he is an excellent hustle player and arguably our most important bench player. Dude is a double double machine, I am very sure when Mitch kupchak would agree with me also, that is why he paid him 8mil for 2 years, Mitch the GOAT would not pay a bench player that type of money if he only planned on playing him 10mpg.

Agree about Duhon, he is not good. I hope he doesn't enter a single game.

Jamison will get most of the minutes behind Gasol and Howard.

A clearly stated that that is a playoff rotation, not regular season.... I have a hard time imagining Duhon being a worse defender than Steve Blake, and Duhon shot much better from 3 last year.. but I could be wrong.

In a shortened playoffs rotation, I can see a four man front line rotation of Artest, Jamison, Gasol and Howard.

Well trust me, I have the lakers best interest at heart. Duhon is really bad, even worst than Derek fisher. Try imagine a player that can't do anything right. He is a combination of Luke Walton, Sasha vujachic and the no defense presence of derek fisher all tied into one player.

Who's worse duhon or smush Parker

I think people just assume that since Duhon is a NBA PG making a paycheck that he has to be better than Blake.

Unfortunately they are going to be sorely mistaken, as bad as Blake is Duhon is worse.

I think at least two of the big 4 should always be on the court, like Nash-Howard or Gasol-Kobe, that way bench scoring wouldnt be such a problem because bench players would be there for spacing and defense
