actually cp3/howard/ has longer shelf life and cheaper but we can reload come 2014 so it is what it is but I'm also glad we dont have cp360. Watching him play and the flopping is annoying, I think I would eventually hate him even if he was a laker.

That is a funny one.
Re Chris Paul I'm not sure what the hype is all about him. He is a good point guard but he doesn't move well without the ball. I think peoples perception of him through media hype is bigger than what he actually is.

"your punishment must be more severe" is probably applicable somewhere in that mitch/bane sig

This reminds me the failed attempt of the Lakers trading for KG (when he was still in Minnesota.)
At the time I think Bynum and Odom would have been involved with the trade leaving us with Kobe and KG.
But then Mitched pulled a completely historic deal in getting Pau Gasol. 2 rings later its been one of the best trades.

the nash trade maybe makes us better right now (since both dwight and pau were put on this earth to play with nash) but i feel that if that trade went through, wed be better 5 yrs from now

Well.. with the cp3 trade, we would HAVE a much BETTER money situation. Plus a new superstar to build around.
Cp3/Kobe/Dwight is a little worse than Nash/Gasol/Kobe/Dwight, but the money is much better.

You want a point guard good without the ball?

You know how after the CP3 trade, Cuban, Dan Gilbert (and a few others) immediately expressed disapproval? How come it's pretty quiet after the D-Ho trade? Are these GM's recovering from shock or something?

What I see a lot from Chris is, he brings up the ball and either handles it all the way to an assist or a basket himself, or he will initially pass it off. . when he opts to pass it off, he just steps off to near the half court line and watches the plays standing there.
I see other point guards after the initial pass off, they will shoot over across or move to continue a play or to receive a pass. It may be the strategy set by the coach sure but I havent seen Chris do anything differently (many times , not all) than what Derek fisher used to do...bring up the ball , pass , hang out on 3 point line with hands on knees.

I've always said since the CP3 veto that whomever the Lakers land it will be what Stern & company gets. When we got Nash I said they don't like it but I knew much wouldn't be said because Nash is old & on his way out the door.
Even though I would have been ok with Bynum staying, when the D12 thing kept coming up, again I said man Stern & them will sh*t bricks! The only way it could have been sweeter if it had been D Will & D12 for the youth factor if nothing else.

Ok Doc, you seem to be up on your superhero business & all. So who do you take in an all out throw down between Hulk & the man of Steel?

Unless the Hulk gets his hands on some kryptonite he has no shot against Superman.

We definitely have a better team now with the veto, but CP3 + howard would have been an amazing core to build around after Kobe retires. Now mitch and co have the challenge of rebuilding a championship calibur team around Dwight after kobe and nash leave.
