Why didnt we sign him already for vet minimum, he doesnt look like he would get much more than that and would be in a great situation with us in Los Angeles, playing for a title etc.

Not enough room on the roster. He was okay but often injured.

Plus, Barnes could get minutes in another rotation.

I'll take Barnes over Ebanks.

I'd take Matt Barnes in a heartbeat on this team's bench. Our most productive bench player from last year's team could then become our 4th (?) most productive after Antawn Jamison, Jodie Meeks, and Jordan Hill.

Seems to me like the FO is in no hurry to make this happen. Get the sense that they've moved on.

I would rather have Matt Barnes than ANYBODY on our bench. Hopefully he comes at a discount since he got arrested.

I think we have decide to take our chance on Ebanks and I'm pretty sure if he doesn't cut it, that we will be trying to trade for someone by the deadline or signing someone

so you just gona ignore 2 horrible playoff run he's had since being here? anybody? so you'd take him over Jamison? All barnes is a hustle player, he is overrated on D, gets lite up constantly but people ignore that cause they see him going balls out all the time and some of the time its a actually a bad thing the way he plays.

That's an irrational thought imo. He's not better than Jamison, Meeks, or possibly even Hill.

Pass... dude can't shoot for **** and gambles way too much on d, picking up ticky-tack fouls and all. I'm good with banks for now

& he's got anger flashes where he doesn't seem to care how it'll hurt the team, he'll just go off.

I dunno. Ebanks did an amazing job against Durant on defense in LA after Metta was bounced for the "Elbow heard around the world" happened.

Kind of wish Barnes wouldn't leave, but he has been injury prone lately.

Too many guys can't adapt to change.....it's time to move on and we gotta find out something about Ebanks. Holding on to players just because of name is over with. We gotta start putting some youth on this roster, and looking forward to the future.

Count me in with the camp that says it's time to move on. I'd rather develop some of our young talent off the bench, namely Ebanks and Goudelock.

Speaking of Ebanks, he's given us reasonable production when given 15+ minutes.

14g
23.9 min

6.5 pts
3.3 reb
0.8 ast
0.6 stl
1.0 tov
1.3 pf

.449 fg%
.724 ft%
.503 ts%

Not out of this world, but I think with consistent playing time he'll improve. His main weakness is his inability to shoot (doesn't have range outside of 20 feet), but that wasn't exactly a strength of Barnes either. Defensively I think he's pretty good. Very quick and has great length although he's not super strong (neither was Barnes). Doesn't gamble a whole lot and is perfectly equipped to guard guys like Durant, Harden, Wade, etc.

I agree with this. Matt Barnes at this point isnt going to add anything Ebanks cant. Might as well go with the younger, cheaper option and see how he develops. The team is already stacked at key positions as it is. Atleast keep a few guys like Ebanks, Sacre and DJO to see how they turn out, one of them may be a diamond in the rough.

I'm with the Ebanks movement. I really want to see what this kid can do now. Trevor Ariza 2.0 will shine!
