if he can push the tempo and run the break like Farmar, shoot well from outside like old Sasha, has the hops to finish like Shannon, and is left handed like Odom, we have our key 4 bench players back! saved us 3 roster spots! :D

Lets hope he makes it. Yes he is a great leapers and dunker. Maybe if he used some of that ability in other areas of his game, he might have went higher in the draft. Lakers need youth like this, since there will be almost no draft picks for years to come and players like this might not be in the Lakers future without trades. Hope he can be the player we need off the bench.

Why not keep him? He could very well be a sleeper talent. Been waiting on a player similar to Delonte West and this dude has a good game. The knock on him is that he is a undersized combo guard. I remember before the NCAA season started he was a projected late 1st rd guy.

Having seen a great deal of Jodie Meeks and a bit of Johnson-Odom (only a few games), I feel pretty comfortable saying that Johnson-Odom is a better fourth guard.

Better defender.
Better spot up shooter.
Better intangibles.
Better athleticism.

Just better.

Meeks may start the year as Kobe's backup, but if Mike Brown gives him a "fair shake", Darius Johnson-Odom is the better player ... you'll see.

If he's a half decent play maker he could be a backup for Nash, everyone keeps saying they want a backup PG that can defend and shoot, and the fact that he's athletic as hell is a nice bonus too.

Meeks played point for Philly so I think DJO being a combo won't be much of an issue, especially if the team wants to run Princeton when Nash is resting on the bench. but if Pau will be the focal point of the Princeton, I'm not sure if a line up of

Pau
Jamison/Hill
MWP/Ebanks
DJO/Meeks/Morris
Meeks/Morris

will be that effective defensively. though the only soft spot I see there is at the 4 if Jamison is playing. and I just can't see Kobe not on the floor with Pau.

Hope he gets playing time, just so we have an athletic guy who can hype up the crowd with a huge dunk and get us going. Haven't had that since Shannon left
