From what I know he's a good defender with good length and athleticism.
Is he more of a 4 or a 3?
He kind of strikes me as a PJIII type of guy, what can we expect from him?

Some people seem to think he's a four just because of his size and because of Orlando playing with small line ups using him as a four sometime but he's a three. If you look at his game you can easily see that. He likes to dribble penetrate not post up or stay on the block. He is also a slasher. He's going to be a real good defender coming off the bench. I see him having a Posey type of impact.

Earl Clark is now in his fourth year. It is now or never and the Lakers need more offensive weapons to contend and provide a lift from the bench and possible starter.

I like the combo of Earl Clark at 6'10 225 and Jordan Hill at 6'10 and 235 as two guys that can come off the bench and give the team some youth. Clark is 24 and Hill is 25. Not saying they will be the next big thing, but to have two players who are tall and athletic and can help this team might be important for the future. With the Lakers trading so many future draft picks. It will be hard to stay young and these are 2 guys that might be able to help the Lakers in the near future when other Lakers are not around. It will be interesting to see how they perform. Hope they get playing time.

Out of all the new guys (besides Nash, Howard, and Jamison obviously) I think Clark has the potential to be that breakout guy who can become a regular contributor. Probably not a star, but a reliable role player at least.
I hope he pans out.

Intersting, I always thought he was 4 and figured he'd never get playing time with Pau and Jamison at the 4 but if he's better equipped to play 3 as previously said then he could very well take Ebanks backup minutes.
Nash - Blake/Duhon
Kobe - Meeks
MWP - Clark/Ebanks
Pau - Jamison
Dwight - Hill

Lakers hope he can guard the big perimeter players, just in case Peace gets suspended again

If he can be anything like Ariza, hell yeah. His confidence really went down from his NCAA play. Hopefully he can break out this season

I hope he plays the 3, so we can put him on Durant. He is athletic as well, so mix his speed with his sheer length and he could possibly be our best defender to sick on Durant.

I think he's got a better chance of being our Ariza than Ebanks does.

Good highlight mix of Clark, I know highlights can be deceiving but I like what I see from him above anything Ebanks has ever done

nice mix on Earl, he plays long like his is at least. 6'10 atheltic and actually uses his length in his game I like those aspects

He's 6'10 and his reach is 9'1.5 according to Draftexpress.com so he should at least be able to make Durant work hard for his shots

Orlando fan here, Earl was one of my homer favorites and he's certainly got the tools...
Tall, athletic, has above average ball handling for a guy his size.
Dude is very good man defender with exception that he's not very disciplined on shot fakes and the refs certainly never let him get away with anything when he was guarding star 3's or 4's The refs will probably be a little easier on him now that he's with the laker show

. Wasn't a great system defender for us but van gundy's system was pretty difficult for new players. He is very good help shot blocker though.
He shoots a crap ton of bad midrange shots that are usually way off, his best work i could tell were throw ahead passes in transition where his long stride is deadly, and cleanup rebounds
I think he's a poor, well, more like broke mans Josh smith... Great athleticism, outstanding shot blocker, and a lot of head scratching jump shots (although Earl doest take many 3s)

Thanks for the insight on Earl. From what I've gathered he does know his role and plays within what team asks of him, so that's good. (This was the #1 thing that turned me off of Jordan Farmer ) I can see Mike Brown going to him and weird moments during the season but if he comes ready to play and works hard from training camp, he might find it hard to not find him minutes somewhere. You cant teach size/length like that, heart and intangibles.

Great News to hear man. Sounds like Earl Clark may be the defensive player we needed all this time. If he is as good as a defensive player as I have seen him to be in Orlando then id give him about 20mins per game. Im hoping he will be a taller/more athletic version of Sefalosha without the 3pt shot.

if the rifleman get him to shoot decently, we might have a poor man's kenyon martin on our hands
