MWP is holding the offense back?

Already seen to many times MWP trying to intiatiate the offense too many times. The man guarding Peace lays off him to help out on others and MWP can't hit a wide open shot to make teams pay. Hopefully Peace will stop trying to dribble through traffic and make things happen, and let Kobe and Howard be the playmakers, along with Nash coming back. Kind of hope Ebanks can turn into a Ariza type spot up shooter, which is what the really need with the 1st unit.

Our FT shooting has been more of an offensive problem than Artest. Brown wants him to be more aggressive with the second unit.

Have to get used to Howard being a bad ft shooter, just like Shaq. At least he puts the other team in the penalty quicker.

Just like we'll have to get used to the Lakers shaking off the rust through the first couple of weeks.

He's not holding the offense back... He's just an offensive liability... There's a difference.

The problem isn't just MWP, but in my mind, an upgrade at MWP's position could potentially gain us the greatest rewards...

Right now, we're all playing D like poop. We expect Howard to get back to elite form, Kobe is OK, but we can't upgrade him, Pau is inconsistent on D but great on offense usually, Nash isn't great on D but has to start for us... MWP is supposed to be a defensive anchor, but has lost his lateral quickness and is just a beat too slow to be overly effective on D... Plus he's prone to make bad decisions on offense and though, while he can have super effective performances when it counts, he can also absolutely kill our offensive flow when he goes into chuck mode...

So to me, if we could replace MWP with a starter with some quickness, we'd be in better shape...
I just don't know how to do that...

Josh Howard? Mo Evans? Not sure if any of the vet min players have anything left...

More often than not, he's trying to create his own shot as opposed to trying to initiate for others when he does that stupid thing where he dribbles away the shot clock.

Every time he dribbles, "Yakety Sax" plays in my head.

MWP is the only starter who needs to be in a system. Its when he tries to improvise that he gets the team in trouble. When he gets his number called a couple times in the post early in games is when he's most happy, and usually it translate to better outside shooting during the games. When he gets a couple easy buckets early in the game, that's when you see confidence MWP knocking down shots later in games.

Metta's problem is that he needs the ball out of his hands. Either he needs to be cutting, shooting the open shot or get the ball off of penetration and drive. If he's running a rigid offense he's clueless.

Metta's an awful player all-around at this point. He can't shoot, can't dribble, can't elevate and finish at the basket and worst of all, he's not aware of his limitations. With his defensive abilities pretty much gone he has very little value to this team.

Artest is a guy that lacks the discipline and focus to be a good systems player. When he's frustrated and doesn't understand his role, he does that stupid defense mechanism thing where he forces things on offense. It then disrupts the flow of the offense.

I much prefer the hustle player, mediocre shooter of 2010 as opposed to the current guy that gets to actually make decisions. Stick him in the corner and nothing else.

He still has enough defensive abilities to be a contributor for this team. Offensively, though, he needs to stop insecurities get to him. That's why he tries to forces things.

With the hope of PJ coming back I hope MWP once again will be somewhat in check with reality and focus on his strengths!

I'm watching highlights of the first pre-season game for Malone and Payton. It's a joke for them. It's nothing, the triangle is absolutely nothing. Payton's problem with it was his stats and the fact he couldn't shoot. It's really not that complicated.

Players and coaches have said that it's one of the most complicated offensive schemes to learn.

Horry said otherwise. It's not learning it that's hard, it's just so many stupid players don't have a clue how to play in it.
