Am i crazy or can this work?

Why not just hire Phil Jackson and Mike D'Antoni. The was im seeing it you start off every offensive possion on a SSOL offense if that does not work you switch up and use the Triangle. The Lakers only run the Tri 30%-40% of the time anyways so 40% Tri 40% SSOL 10% Iso 10% Misc.. With Players like Kobe & Nash handling the load it would work out great they could work it out. Then with the Bench you keep it simple and run 60% SSOL 40% Tri you have Duhon who knows Mike's Offense you got a bunch of very atheltic young players on the team i think it would work out great what do you guys think?

Phil might be the mastermind on taming big egos .
Im not too sure in this situation that he'll be able to tame his own.
Same could be said for Mike D'Antoni. Even though I'm fully aware of him
being an assistant for Team USA under Coach K.

Not sure if Phil would be okay mixing "Seven Seconds or Less" into his system which could potentially be over barring enough for the new players to pick up. Hey I'll admit the SSOL system is super high octane fun to watch but it doesn't get you far. The Triangle is proven.

As for players like Steve Nash it would be idea but it's not about one player.
Steve himself probably wouldn't want that either at this point of his career.
It's all about winning now.

It would be epic if D'antoni would will one of the assistant spots but his ego wouldn't go for it. Not to mention Jackson and his staff would demand a pretty steep salary and we still have to pay Brown the remainder of his contract. I also don't see D'antoni settling on a smaller contract.

I've thought about this many times but it's just a pipe dream.

Don't need D'Antoni to push the ball after a defensive rebound or forced turnover, its just plain fundamental basketball to get something in transition where the defense isn't set.

+1

Phil is a Genius. He could teach ssol or some variant on his own. No need for D'antoine to tell the guys to run.

Wait, so you're suggesting that Phil has the team for the next two years and then it's D'Antoni's? Hmm. Well, if that arrangement works for Kobe and Dwight...

But no. I can't see either one of them going for that, nor Buss willing to pay that much in coaching salary. Yeah, we're led to believe money is not an issue, but I just won't buy it. Especially when the amount Phil is asking for is largely a product of his ego to begin with.

Does Dwight even know what he's getting himself into? He's not a great post passer, nor is his post-game all that great. If anything I'd say put Dwight on the weak side in the two-man game.
