GAME NOTES

The Lakers and Spurs come into this game with a 2 win streak. The Spurs rank 11th in points scored (98.4), while the Lakers(97.8) rank 12th. Spurs guard Tony Parker is currently listed as questionable with the flu. Tim Duncan leads the Spurs in points, rebounds and blocks. Kobe lead the Lakers in points, Pau in rebounds, Howard in blocks. This will be the 147th meeting between the teams. The Lakers have won 74 and the Spurs 72.

KEYS TO GAME

The Spurs like to play uptempo and look to stretch the defense of it's opponents with perimeter shooting. The Lakers must close out on their shooters and limit the Spurs on the offensive boards, while not allowing too much penetration from Parker. The Lakers must rebound on both glass to control the Spurs tempo as they don't won't to play a slow tempo with the Lakers.

The Lakers will have to establish it's interior game by getting Howard or Gasol off early against the Spurs under size front line. Seeing as the Spurs will most likely check Howard with Diaw and Gasol with Duncan. The interior attack needs to be a point of emphasis against the Spurs. If Diaw gets in foul trouble they'll counter with Tiago Splitter at the 5.

Duncan and Kobe have looked great this year. Hopefully we get this one but since it is in SA, i give them the edge. There is also a chance that Blake will not be available.

This board is starting to get a defeatist additude. I don't see everything in P&G, but the Heat aren't some monster. They just got whipped by the Grizzlies, a team better equipped to battle us. Trust me when I tell you the Heat lack of interior size will be the death kneel for them.
