The Lakers have been dangling Steve Blake and Chris Duhon in trade talks, source said. Predictably, not a whole lot of interest.

They have been on the block for sometime now.
Look at it as a salary dump as we likely would only want a crappy pick back.

Ship them both out. I'm good with Morris. At this point, I'd trade them for a hug.

I bet Mitch can trick one of the dumber GMs to take one of them, not both.

Calderon would fit our back up PG spot pretty well and he expires after this season. I also like Kleiza form the Raps but no way to make salaries match without giving up someone like Hill, which I'd rather not do.
Interesting part is that Jordan Hill was in D'Antoni's doghouse in NY.

Though I'd love to have Calderon, your doghouse comment is exactly why I think we ought to avoid trade talk until we've seen a few games under his captaincy. This team is unlike any other he's coached before, and he's already spoken as much, so why assume he'll run the exact same offense he did in PHX or NY?
If after a while he fails to utilize what talent he has at his disposal for any reason then okay, make trades. It's not a knock on him, it's not a knock on those players. Even Phil brought in Ron Harper and Horace Grant his first time. Brown didn't bring in anyone (though to be fair, there wasn't much he could do about that).

I wonder if we can resign Goudelock now that Mike Brown's gone. Pringles would give goudelocke 20 mins a game easily, pringles loves his shooters

Hopefully Christmas comes early this year, and Mitch can pull of a trade for both of these guys to get Sessions back

I would try and send Blake back to the Wizards for a 2 round pick. They could use him until Wall gets back.

Dantoni loves Duhon
he will not let LA trade him because Duhon actually knows how to run the pnr.

Out of curiosity.. U think the Lakers would trade Pau and Blake for Calderon and Bargnani?..
Personally I think that would be a good deal for both teams. Especially with D'Antoni running things.

I'd be inclined to say yes if Bargs didn't have a contract ending after 2014....that would mess our cap situation
and plans for 2014

Explain how this would happen. Why would CHA trade the better PG they JUST signed to a 2 year deal for 1 of our lesser PG's that make roughly the same amount? I know LA has done some great deals in the past but just thinking Mitch can pull any simple deal off b/c it benefits LA is not thinking straight.

Well, if you want to look at it that way, Bargnani does have an ETO in '14 and even if he doesn't use it, that $11m's still one sweet expiring k for any team going after Rondo, Love, LMA, Gasol (Marc), or anyone else in the 2015 free agent pool. Plus, you've got Calderon on the last year of a $10m deal, so if you cut him or he walks in June, you could theoretically line up a 1-year replacement deals and still retain some flexibility.
But all this is a moot point because TOR will still say no. They're rebuilding, they've got a protected lotto pick in the hands of OKC right now, and they aren't serious players for any FAs in 2014.

Nothing new here. The first team that bites with a decent player back, mitch reels it in.

Would you guys be in favor of Gasol + backup PG for Jeremy Lin + PF + picks from Houston? I think it makes sense for both parties.

I am fine with this, I have yet to see Blake knock down a clutch shot when it has really counted and Duhon holds no real value outside of his relationship with Mike D.
Mitch could probably swindle some decent value out of these two stiffs.
I agree with some of the other posters that we can give Morris the shot, there is more to develop there.
