Is Pau the Euro (Kings) Chris Webber?

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Wed Nov 21, 2012 8:26 pm

Seriously, Pau has been hitting those shots at the top of the key like crazy. He shoots from all of Chris' old money spots. (How can we forget 2002!)

His passes remind me of Chris Webber's Kings day too. Add these similarities to the new showtime strategy that will bring out more of this type play from Pau's and it is becoming official... I think it's time we realize what we are seeing. Pau is becoming the Euro Chris Webber (Kings version)! LOL

8-)

If Pau continue to hit those mid-range jumper, we would be very hard to stop.

Sure, just with way way less athleticism, heart, effort, talent, and, if you can actually believe it, defense. Unless you're talking about '04 and beyond Webber (aka post-injury). Pau might be comparable to that guy. Only way they can function defensively is at the center position.

His FG% is 42% at the rim, 16% from 3 to 9 feet, 17% from 10 to 15 feet

He's doesnt deserve to be mentioned alongside Webber in Detroit ffs

He's actually shooting 63% at the rim.

63% (31-49) - Restricted Area
21% (6-28) - In the Paint (Non RA) -- WTF?
39% (29-75) - Mid-Range
25% (1-4) - Corner-3
50% (1-2) - Above the Break 3

I don't mind his mid-range shooting because that's actually not too bad, but him sucking in the painted area is inexcusable. D12 has a bit less range than Pau and even he's managing 33%. For reference he shot 46% last season in the painted area so this is a steep drop for him.

I do....sorry,but 39% for a player who shoots the majority of his shots WIDE OPEN isn't gonna cut it ....especially at that volume

MWP got a lot of criticism for his inability to hit the wide open 3 (last year moreso) and he shoots 32-25% from deep so Pau should be held accountable too...especially when he doesn't do anything on D unlike MWP to warrant cutting him some slack

Fair enough.

Pau has certainly regressed from mid-range (48% in 10-11, 42% in 10-12) so it's a legit criticism.
