Derek Fisher Signs with Dallas

Post#1 » by MensRea » Thu Nov 29, 2012 1:10 am

Derek Fisher is expected to sign with a team in the next several days, sources tell ESPN.com . Considering 2-3 teams.

In Dantoni's system, Fish fits. If there are no hard feelings, I"d love to see him back in a Laker uniform. I think he's better than Duhon and Morris. He provides insurance for Nash and can backup Blake. Another shooter...it works. He's might be the best defensive PG on the roster if he signs on.

I actually won't necessarily mind Fish on the team, if not for any other reason than to have a locker room presence (we clearly have the talent but not the mindset to get it together...).

But the highlighted sentence above made me threw up a little.

We already have 4 PGs. If we'll sign another one, I'll go with West. FISHER IS DONE!

No, he's not done, and better than Duhon, and probably Morris. That's the reality. So what if we have 4 PGs. I'll give you 8 PG's. They all equal zero if none of them can play. Matter of fact, we don't have 4 point guards, we have 1.8 point guards. Might as well make it an even 2.

Nash = 1
Blake = .5
Morris = 0.15
Duhon = 0.15

Nash = 1

Duhon = 0.15

So Duhon is the basis of being "done"? :lol:
I'd rather have Morris than Fisher.
Now if you NEED another PG, we can get Delonte.

Can you explain how Fisher and his skill set fits the system that D'Antoni runs?

Fisher is a spot up shooter...and a damn good one. That's all I got.

Honestly, I wanted him mostly for his locker room presence. Like if we could some how get him on Dantoni's coaching staff, that would be great. He'd be good for Morris' development, and he's Kobe's therapist. Plus he'd slap the $#5@ out of Howard for smiling after a loss.

Kinda feel bad for D-Fish. We drafted him.... he was a homegrown talent. Now he's a hobo... going around places begging for food. Kinda like what happened to Shaq and Lamar Odom. lol

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
