12 lakers = 10 heat?

The lakers look like the heat during their first quarter of the 10 season. Lots of hate. Lots of fire this coach... And pau gasol is looking like chris bosh. Think we'll turn it on during the second half of the season. Your thoughts?

Heat started off 9-8 and Chris Bosh was averaging 18pts, 7reb, 51%fg/85%ft
Pau is averaging 13pts, 9reb, 42%/76%

I wish Pau was looking like Bosh.

How exactly is Pau looking like Bosh?

We're nothing like the Heat.

LeBron and Wade were both top 5 players in the league, and Bosh was top 10. They were surrounded by solid shooters and young guys willing to defend, not to mention a coach that put a premium on defense.

We have a bunch of old guys that are past their prime and are at risk of breaking down throughout the course of a season, and our coach only cares about offense.

Everyone knew the Heat would reach the Finals despite their early struggles. They just had too much talent. For us we still have a lot to prove and quite frankly I doubt we'll get to the Finals even if we do start clicking. There's a ton of talent in the West and several teams that match up well with us. Everything has to go right, including our veterans staying healthy. We're barely a month into the season and our starting PG has a stress fracture while our starting PF has tendonitis. Our bench is pathetic.

I'm hoping that we make this season entertaining and reach the Conference Finals, but realistically I don't expect us to seriously contend until next season.

Bosh is not a top 10 player in the NBA

No disrespect to the OP and to any other Laker fan who uses the same comparison but,
this is getting really weak and repetitive.

The Heat play in the East Coast which is clearly the easier road to the Finals.

The Lakers having a slow start just like the 2010 Heat doesn't guarantee a succesful
outcome nor relieve the current issues.
There's much work to be done .

I think I see the comparison between Bosh and Gasol. When he first joined Miami, Bosh was pretty confused and irritated by his new role. Gasol is feeling the same way right now.

dirk, pau, amare, kg, duncan, and maybe randolph and west were the only noticeable better PF's at the time

I don't think the lakers are as top heavy as the heat are or were. I also think its impossible to judge this team until Nash comes back. It's like people completely ignore we have a top 5 point guard on this team who has played only 1.5 games. How would the heat have looked early on if one of the big 3 was injured to start it all off? Probably much worse.

Well, regardless of other differences between the 2 teams, Bosh was confused about his role just like Pau.

Pau is confused about his gender.

You can't compare Bosh and Gasol . Or Heat and Lakers.

Bosh left Toronto as the #1 option to Miami heat as the #3 guy , to team up with arguably the two best players in this generation.

Gasol has been a Laker for like 5 years now, and if anything, I expected him to improve his play because playing along side Howard would sure do that.

Sorry folks, but I don't think it's a good comparison. Lakers are a very talented team no doubt, and they will get better in no time as soon as Nash comes back.

Good luck

Thank you for this thread! I could not agree more, this is how I have felt about the Lakers throughout the start of this season.

They will figure it out, just WAY to much talent not to.
