Backup SF

Post#1 » by KingLakers » Sat Dec 1, 2012 9:05 am

Any Ideas on who the Lakers can trade for to fill this position Jamison seems to have moved to PF and Clark and Ebanks seem to be chained to the bench. I've looked at other teams rosters the only guys i can think of are Derrick WIlliams and Jared Dudley. Williams could be pricey and I dont think the Lakers will trade Pau during the season so the only trade I thought of for him was Hill and Ebanks for Williams which I dont think is likely because WIlliams has to go for more because he was the number 2 pick just a year and a half ago. And Dudley I just dont think the SUns want to deal with the Lakers again. Also is WIlliams naturally a PF or SF?

Williams like Jamison is more of a stretch 4. Jamison still plays the majority of the minutes of the back up 3 when D'Antoni is not playing small ball so by trading for a 3 you are likely to cut down on Jamison's minutes pretty dramatically. I dont think you make a trade unless it's an absolute steal.

Williams is and wants to play the 3 but Adelman hates him and keeps playing him at the 4, and when everyone is healthy, that is reason not to play him

The problem I have with Derrick Williams is that he can't shoot, I also wouldn't want to trade Hill because he's a great rebounder and he brings so much energy he is a great guy to have on the bench.

Oh i know but the scouts had him playing his best bball as a stretch 4 not a 3. Adelman obviously feels the same and as such im going with that. He also had the best game of his career playing the 4 when he scored 27 points when Love was out.

We don't need anybody....MWP plays what,like 34-35 mins a game at least?

In those 14-15 spare minutes just play Kobe and Jamison at the 3 and we'll be fine...split the minutes between them

D'Antoni actually did just that, playing the PG/Meeks/Kobe lineup sometimes which is working until now...

Like JVG said,3 shooters and Kobe/Dwight pick and roll and we're unstoppable....just wait until Nash comes back and we're even deadlier

wouldnt call him a terrible shooter. He's up to 33% from 3 this year and shot 57% from 3 in college.

jamison is a capable enough player to play some 3 and 4 off the bench. give him minutes instead of signing someone else and I'm sure he'll deliver
