Steve Blake To Undergo Abdominal Surgery

EL SEGUNDO – Lakers guard Steve Blake will undergo laparoscopic surgery this Wednesday to repair a torn abdominal muscle, it was announced today.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Craig Smith and it is expected that Blake will miss a minimum of six to eight weeks.

Blake was originally diagnosed with the abdominal strain on November 12 and has missed the last 10 games with the injury. In seven games this season (five starts), Blake is averaging 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.29 steals in 26.0 minutes.

So we can't move Chris Duhon. This is terrible for Blake as well.

sessions opted out of his contract, it wasnt up to the lakers at all really.

Fisher would have been a nice pickup to help fill the void. I guess the Lakers will not try to find someone to help fill the void with the other guards on the bench. Lets start the Jose chant at the games...

Delonte would be loved by the Laker fans. He is definitely needed and i think Delonte style fits in with this team like a glove. Delonte can give you a variety of things on the court and Lakers need a player who can kinda fill in the gaps where needed. It sucks that the Lakers mgmt will not bite the bullet and cut duhon and sign West for the Minimum (x2 for lux tax).

but I have a feeling the Lakers are blackballing Delonte for not signing with them in the first place this past offseason when the Lakers showed alot of interest.

Don't think that's the issue your team has with Delonte. You can't blame Delonte for being loyal to Dallas - they did buy him a condo when he was homeless/living in his car.

I think the off the court issues Delonte recently had with his teammates, starting fights in the locker room and stuff, is what is keeping him away from your team.

If this is the case, then it is the Dallas front office that did Delonte no favors in speaking more truths of why he was waived. It was just rumors of what actually happened.
