Game Notes:

"The league's top two scorers will be in the spotlight Friday night with Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder on a season-high six-game win streak heading into their first meeting with Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers since last season's playoffs.

That series defeat no doubt caused Los Angeles to make changes, most notably adding superstars Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

Nash has played in only two games due to a leg injury and Howard - coming off back surgery - hasn't been nearly as effective as many expected. The Lakers (9-10) are 4-5 since hiring Mike D'Antoni as coach, although Durant still sees them as a threat in the West.

It's early in the year, they're a really good team," Durant said. "They've got so many good players, so many champions. They're going to turn this thing around pretty quickly."

Bryant leads the league with 28.0 points per game, but Los Angeles is 1-7 when he scores at least 30. Durant, who scored 32 in Tuesday's 117-111 victory at Brooklyn, is averaging 26.5.

No mention of the Thunder is complete without Russell Westbrook, who victimized the Lakers by averaging 25.6 points against them in last season's playoffs.

In the middle, Howard and Oklahoma City center Serge Ibaka will do battle in a matchup of premier shot blockers. Ibaka averages a league-high 3.3 blocks while Howard is fourth at 2.8.

Lakers big man Pau Gasol has missed the first two games of this three-game trip with tendinitis in both knees, and it's unclear if he'll return Friday. Antawn Jamison has started in his place, scoring 15 points in each game."

I think this game is winnable, it'll come down to whether or not Westbrook has a good game. if he racks up assist and scores then yeah it'll be a long night. Hopefully we can cover everybody else and just have RW Jack up shots at an inefficient rate. also Kobes going to have play some defense when homeboy comes off the bench.

can't blame him, Kobe has been a average to bad help defender for a while now. Funny thing is Kobe got a lot better on D immediately afterwards.

It was actually right as the play happened. The only defense Kobe has been playing is gambling on passing lanes. He'sbeen cconstantly losing his man & late on rotations. So Dwight had seen enough and let him know about it.

It is also good to note Kobe acknowledged his woes and straightened up during the second half.

I fully feel we are going to get our ass handed to us tonight though.

Gotta have more faith. If we show lack of energy in this game then something is terribly wrong. I look for us to compete from beginning to end.

very little till we show some consistency! we are still an asterisk squad no nash no blake till they get back and are fully incorporated and display some kind of consistency I'll always feel like this during games any team can beat us at any given night. Mostly we beat ourselves before the other team beats us though if you know what I mean.

considering Ibaka's jumper is automatic, i'll take my chances on Westbrook one on one and taking bad shots.

What's up with all these weak minded fans ? OKC is good but they're not imposing, they have flaws mainly one being it's bench. K.Martin isn't James Harden and he doesn't create for others like James did. If we control the boards and continue to work out our defense we'll be OK.

OKC's shooting will eventually come down. Durant, Martin, and Sefalosha won't average 45% or better from 3 all year.
