I'm in a bad mood.......F New York.
That said none of us know what to expect from this team anymore. But I'll lay out some things anyway. If we keep the TO's low and rebounds on the defensive boards we'll control the game. Kobe and Dwight will play well, but others have to give something decent. Mike.D needs to minimize Duhon's minutes and play Meeks more at 2 with Kobe assuming ball duties, then give Ebanks a few minutes at the 2 also seeing he has a tremendous size advantage over Kidd ( when they run Kidd and Felton together) and over JR Smith.
Simply put Duhon can't be running 35 minutes or more, slash his time and we have a much better chance.

If we make free throws we compete and maybe win. If we don't make free throws we get curb stomped.
There's lots of reasons we're struggling, no Nash and no Pau ldo, but imho the main reason we're struggling is due to how aggressive teams have been able to play D against us forcing us to commit tons of turnovers. If we start consistently knocking down out freebies teams won't be at liberty to pound the crap out of us the way they do.
Also, Dwight has struggled mightily at getting his shots to go in when he's hacked. Once we start getting more +1's we should be real tough to stop. That's how I see it for now anyway.

Any win would be great but blowing them out would be something special.
Quick Kick wrote:this gonna be a blowout on national TV. LA is demoralized and searching for answers. Your rotations have to be crisp if you plan to slow down our three point barrage, and we all know Asstoni only practices D for half an hour. Plus Ty OWNS D12 in the paint.
Asstoni will probably jizz himself watching Novak rain down threes all night.

lakers are a horrible matchup against us
LINWAGON wrote:Dwight can't hit free throws. We got this easy.
Quick Kick wrote: LA is one of the worst defensive teams in the league and their bench is non-existent. We will slaughter them. Quote me.
BKAY wrote:LA just doesnt have enough guards to hold us down for an entire game, this SHOULD be an easy W.

His defense isn't good, but just placing things in perspective, from 82games.com -
Lakers O Rating with Kobe on - 112
Lakers D Rating with Kobe on - 103
Lakers O Rating with Kobe off - 99.
Lakers D Rating with Kobe off - 110.
So, the Lakers offense AND defense gets significantly worse when Kobe's off court. His net on/off of 20.8 is the 2nd highest amongst superstars right now... Durant is the highest. Kobe's legitimately playing at an MVP level, and is the clear cut best player at his position.
This goes back to how the hell do we get thru the period where he rests. It's a double edged sword. We suck when he sits on both ends and our rebounding percentage on both sides the glass as a team also worsens when he sits. That said we overplay him and risk injury, as well as just has him at the close of games and we struggle when he can't close after playing entire second halts to keep us in games

And that O Rating is what will change with Nash back hopefully. I'd like to dream and say the D Rating will change when Pau gets healthy as well.
Scary #'s though considering Kobe's age.
