Should we trade Pau for Amare?

Post#1 » by Cashin out » Fri Dec 21, 2012 2:13 am

I know most Lakers fans will laugh at this idea but I think we should trad Pau for Amare while we can.I got a feeling that Amare will come back motivated and ready to shut his doubters up.I feel like he would bring a more athletic pf to this team, and he can shoot the jumper better than Pau.If I was Mitch I would make this deal because Amare looks like he is a changed man and ready to play winning basketball.I love Pau but it looks like he will never fit with Dwight on the court at the same time,he is too old and slow to play pf in today's NBA.I would rather trade for Amare a guy who has something to prove and hungry to win his first championship.Mitch should make this deal before Amare comes back and starts winning games for NY.

Nash
Meeks
Kobe
Amare
Dwight

That is a lineup that can run n gun and Nash would have the 2 best pick n roll bigman with Amare/Dwight.

Hells to the no.

Amare is trash.

He's got a better mid-range game than Pau but his defense/rebounding are atrocious, and he's nowhere near the passer. We need someone that can play the 5 and Pau can at least do that at a competent level.

Ok call me crazy but I think Amare comes back strong and will have a more impact on the game than Pau.I love Pau but he isn't a pf,why not trade him for a guy who would fit the system better with Amare. For the people who say Amare doesn't play defense neither does Pau.

Dwight would leave LA for all the unnecessary helping and missed rebounds from Amare. No

No.

The one guy whom I always thought would be a great fit for us and I would strongly consider moving Pau for is David Lee. Great mid range, rebounds.. he would give you 14-12 easy without having to run much for him.

I recall Mark Jackson raving about Pau and his St John connection/wood for Artest may entise him. Still, I would wait to see how Nash impacts this squad before considering any moves.

He has never been known as a "beast". What makes you think he will be a "beast" when he comes back?

I get the idea since the Amare is a better fit offensively and has had a great history with Nash but when taking his defense and contract into account, it's an obvious no from the front office. The Lakers aren't tossing their 2014 FA plans to take Amare when LeBron, Carmelo, Wall, Igoudala, George, Favors, Cousins, etc can be FAs.
