I propose that we submit nominations for what we will read, choose a book by the end of weekend, and set the deadline to finish the book for the end of Feb.

for nominations, im considering some type of nba related stuff, we'll see.

and who else wants to join us?

I really dig that proposal doc. let's choose something by this weekend. As for an NBA-related book, I have no idea what to input there but will wait around here for some suggestions from better suited minds. I'm finishing up reading a book on Django Reinhardt and am picking some of Plato's work to read but I don't know what type of books we're all willing to read. I'll just about anything, long as I don't have to do it for school, i hate that lol

Count me in Doc.

I say we start this weekend. Seeing as i have time due to the holiday.

I dont really have any opinions on what book as long as its good.

thanks, list updated.

discussed in the commy thread, but aside from helping each other find links to the books online, the library is always a nice option. my local library (city of commerce) actually buys the book if they don't have it in their inventory.

i'd say any books. if too many people have already read it and/or don't want to re-read it, then we'll keep looking. got any ideas?

if this is a success, i'll want the new dan brown book to be either our 2nd or 3rd cycle.

I think the The Kite Runner is a good place to start, the problem being I've read it.

I think we either need a poll listing various genres or just have Doc pick one to get us going.

I heard this is the most exclusive club on the OTB after #Doorgek. :gossip:

Third is the game thread planning committee.

Jetset is clearly Ryan as well.

i would suggest Cat's Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut

Lolita - Nabokov

Heart of Darkness - Conrad

should be a classic imo that promotes discussion

never read lolita or heart of darkness and ive wanted to forever.

Cat's Cradle was good, you suggested that to me.

Lolita will get really controversial.

I haven't read HOD, I hear it's good.
