LMNO Prods., producers of CBS hidden camera series of specials I Get That A Lot, has partnered with Los Angeles Lakers player, Metta World Peace (born Ronald William Artest) and his Artest Media Group to develop Metta World Pranks, a new prank series featuring professional athletes in hidden camera bits. In addition to Metta and other professional athletes, the show’s practical jokes will also include family members, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends and fans. “Pranking and practical jokes are part of the athletic culture, so it comes naturally to Metta,” said Eric Schotz, President and CEO of ICM Partners-repped LMNO Prods. Metta has a great sense of humor and this show will be a natural vehicle for him to showcase a side of his personality we don’t get to see on the court.”

part of the reason LA got rid of odom was because he was getting too caught up with this reality show business, the same might need to happen to metta as it appears this stuff is getting out of hand. i get he's been playing great this season and our troubles aren't on him but between this, him making rap videos, and the way this season has gone thus far, none of this sits well with me. i'm not sure which occurrence happened at the most inopportune time, this getting out or kobe joining twitter.

you have the green light to show any inaccuracies.

because during the implosion in phil's last year speculation was rampant about the lakers becoming too hollywood, and the concern that lamar being involved with a reality show may distract him from basketball. lamar even sat on steven a smith's radio show crying (this was before the vetoed trade and odom telling them he wanted out) after finding out he was initially traded for cp3 and wondered if his reality show could've played a part in them getting rid of him. then lamar gets to dallas and promises the show won't effect his play and we all know how that turned out and how he's played since. his show doesn't keep getting brought up just because.

I don't think this can be compared to LO. This isn't exactly a "reality" show. Cameras won't be following Metta around everywhere. The show isn't about his life. The most this could affect the team is if Metta decides to prank Kobe or Dwight or something like that, which I doubt he would try to do in practice/team time. And as for Kobe joining twitter...what's the big deal with that? I think at this point the majority of athletes have twitters, don't they? This is just an outside basketball venture that occurs with athletes quite often. Should Kobe stop doing commercials as well?

And the Lakers already have cameras following them everywhere when they are in company time for backstage Lakers, and to be honest that just might be a bigger distraction. Kobe discussed how he didn't like the cameras in his interview yesterday, and referred to PJ's private nature for a team.

i cannot tell you how many jokes regarding raping white girls and chucking i have seen sent to kobe's way. of course it's to be expected regardless, but it's even more prevalent given the nature of the season so far. that's why it's bad timing for kobe. so no, he can keep doing his little commercials. although kobe himself hasn't been featured in a commercial since those kobe system commercials a year or so ago. and i don't believe there are episodic commercials that are filmed, if so, please aware me of some.

as far as this show, anything not having anything to do with basketball is a distraction as far as i'm concerned. you still have to constantly film like you would a reality show, so what is the difference? there isn't one other than giving it a proper genre which is a mere formality at best.

My point (and I could be wrong), is that I'm pretty sure you don't have to constantly film. They probably film like once a week.. the producers and Metta will probably come up with a prank, execute it and film, taking a few hours, and done until next week. A reality show is pretty much 24/7. This is more like a traditional tv show. Also, I'm speculating but where does it even mention that they show will be during the season? I could see this happening in the summer. I'm not saying it doesn't have potential to be a distraction, but it seems very unlikely

And regarding the commercials, I fully understand it's not the same thing. I exaggerated to make a point, and I could imagine how bad the twitter trolling towards Kobe is. I just think he could handle it...he's Kobe **** Bryant. I don't think it distracts him one bit. This is the same guy that would go to his rape trial and come back and make a buzzer beater. Again, I agree that our team has a lot of problems, that it looks like they are trying to solve, but these are the least of it. This will just be a fun little show that, if executing well, we could all enjoy as sport fans.

Lamar had his best season with the Lakers and won 6th man of then year while doing his reality show before he was traded. Had it not been for Chris F**** Paul coming here Lamar would have never been traded anywhere (well maybe in a deal to get Dwight too). Him having a reality show had literally no influence on him being traded.

As far as Kobe getting a twitter upsetting you because its a distraction... Are you f***** kidding me? Seriously? At the most he posts 3-5 tweets in a day. Takes probably 10-15 seconds to write out each one. Let's say he spends another 5 or so minutes reading his timeline. Were talking about something that takes less then 10 minutes out of his day and calling it a distraction. That is beyond ridiculous.

well why don't you go tell lamar that because that's what came straight from his own mouth. and the criticism surrounding the team was of the lakers focusing on more off the endeavours than on actual basketball, so you can go tell everyone else that something to say about it what you feel. fact of the matter is, lamar hasn't done **** but eat and steal money from the mavericks since this reality thing became commonplace for him. and that's something not even sarah jean underwood's grossly enlarged breasts can argue.

did i say kobe having a twitter account was a team distraction? wafer88 understood perfectly what i said, why is it you can't? what is beyond ridiculous is the reading comprehensions and trade scenarios on this board.

How is it lamar had the best year of his career with the lakers while filming for and being featured on those reality shows at the same time if it was such a distraction??

Lamar was NOT the issue during Phil's last year, It was Pau's poor performance in the playoffs, an injured Kobe and a lackluster supporting cast who were absolutely dismantled by the mavs. I don't know anyone who wanted lamar gone because the guy had a reality show, he was our 2nd best player that year and during those playoffs and anyone with even a slight sense of basketball knowledge knows that he was only traded because chris paul was the return for him.

Why did lamar say what he said? Oh I don't know maybe because he was interviewed right after it happened and was still clearly upset about the whole thing. Of course he's not going to take a step back and really examine why the lakers would want to trade him away for chris paul. He was hurt and was only thinking why the lakers would want to get rid of him after all the years he was with the team.

there has been more than the one season of his reality show that aired in 2011, and back when i watched reality tv crap he was also on the regular kardashian show too. so i'll ask again, what has lamar odom done in the nba since becoming a reality show regular?

The show started filming in early 2011 so he won 6th man of the year since being a regular reality star. One of the episodes in his show was based on whether or not he would be selected to the all star game while he was having the best year of his career.

Your point is invalid.

Khloé & Lamar is an American reality television series that debuted on E! in the United States and Canada on April 10, 2011.

they didn't begin filming in 2011, they started running the episodes on the network then.

you don't even know what you're talking about.
