since jamison is prob gone after this season...we will prob keep both....but what if we had to choose one? if there were only one open spot on your team....would you rather keep clark or hill..? (i think our bench will be pretty good next yr with clark, hill and meeks...next yr we just need a def. guardand a wing player)...back to the subject...hill or clark for the lakers if you had to choose one?

same salary too? Then I choose Clark, Hill is great but he is limited offensively. Also unlike Clark, Hill isn't capable of guarding multiple positions, he's easily muscled down low against bigger PF/C's, Clark could essentialy guard 1-4 maybe 5 if we play teams who go small.

yeah i mean ...no salaries or anything like that involved...just off talent and fit.....yeah i think i'd rathwer have clark...i say that with tears in my eyes though because hill gave up alot of money to be here and he is our all hustle player outside of , well, earl...lol but yeah earl can make it tough for alot of people to score and he rebounds well and is athletic.....sooo id have to go with earl....but just excited that we're most likely gonna keep both lol....

Earl "The Pearl" Clark

A much more versatile defender, which is much needed in today's game with teams going small. Clark can guard up to 4 positions. Adds more spacing to your offense, has some range too.

Clark & Hill.

Give Clark a reasonable contract. 3-4 year at avg 6M, make his contract backloaded.

I personally like his game ALOT, and developing him should be a high priority. He does a lot of what The Matrix used to bring on both sides of the court.

He should continue to fill the wings on the fastbreak, slash on the weakside during penetration, and continue to work on his jumper.

Most importantly, work on strength and explosion to amplify all his physical tools that he already has -- thus making him better defensively.

Eventually, I can see him incorporating a face-up game and post game. That's when he can also work on his passing out of the post. This guy has a bright future ahead of him.

A lot will depend on how the season goes and what Howard will do in free agency. If Howard leaves, I can see us keeping all 3 and trading MWP, cutting Duhon for cap space.

From what i've been reading doesn't everyones contract expire next season or is it 2015?

Not only that Hill apparetnly took less money to sign with the Lakers. I hope he does it again
And hope both Clark n Hill stay.

A healthy lineup of

C: Howard
PF: Clark
SF: MWP
SG: Kobe
PG: Nash

Even though this year is still on I can't wait for a healthy next year:)

Hill isn't expiring, Clark is. Hilled signed a 2yr deal, outside of Howard(if he stays)/Nash are the only ones on contract after 2014.

I hope Clark stays as he is a good young athletic player which is what we need more of. He will probably get bigger offers elsewhere but hopefully he takes less money and stays here because we gave him his first real opportunity to play. If Clark stays then I think he would be the starter next season. Even though he hasn't made a commitment to stay I find it hard to believe that Howard will leave. Howard will make more money and have a better chance to win a championship here than anywhere else. So that leaves Gasol as the odd man out as he doesn't want to come off the bench and will be easy to trade this summer as he is an expiring contract. I think the most likely destination for Gasol is the Timberwolves who will be in need of a C as Pekovic is a free agent and will likely leave. Hopefully we can get one of Derrick Williams or Andrei Kirilenko and their first round draft pick for Gasol. That trade would still leave us with cap space for 2014 to sign a big name free agent. With that first round pick which should be a lottery pick we should draft a guard as Kobe and Nash aren't getting younger and could use someone to develop and pair with Dwight who will be the face of the franchise.

Not sure Kup is going to sign someone like Clark past '13-'14. Would Clark stay with the Lakers in a 1 year deal? I guess it depends on what offers he gets elsewhere.

Still Hill pretty easily. Clark has been great thus far, but overall Hill has shown me more.

This one is super easy for me...

I'd take Clark. Hill has proven to be somewhat fragile and I fear he's going to be one of those guys in and out of the DL his whole career. (Just a gut feeling about the guy)

Meanwhile Clark is extremely versatile and can be utilized to guard guys like Durant and Lebron. He's kind of a poor man's version of both players save for the fact he can't create anywhere close to the way LeBron can nor does he have Durant's range with his shot.

Metta's getting too old and slow to stick with the Durants and LeBrons of the world so I'm hoping Clark can be our guy to fill that role going forward. J-Hill seems far easier to replace...

Clark since he can actually start and contributes just about everything that Hill does and more.

Clark just might be the second most versatile defender in the league after Lebron. (versatile...not best)

He could guard wing scorers, spot up shooters in any position, hustle guys, speed guys, most post players, and even some point guards. Hill is very solid, and would nice to have as a backup center, but Clark is showiong potential to be a solid starting 4.
