Nope, didn't happen.
Edit: looks like there is a part 2. Still holding out hope.

part 1
- dwight's back is still bothering him in addition to his shoulder
- only around 70% right now
- says this all takes time, kobe and shaq didn't win right away. la fans aren't the one out there on the court
- admitted to wanting more touches earlier in the season, getting mad at kobe for shooting a lot. doesn't care anymore, just wants to do whatever it takes to win
- plays the game to be one of the greats, didn't say if he'd be that while in la
- the thought of him missing free throws makes him miss them
- shot 90% from the free throw line in high school

part 2
- dwight still thinks we can win a championship
- his focus is only on winning a championship
- still committed to the team
- dwight doesn't want the circus from last year to carry over to la
- didn't cry his way out of orlando
- not indecisive

at least he's still playing which is more then I can say for the other "option" that was thought to be the face of the franchise after Kobe.

One thing Laker superstars have in common... Shaq, Kobe, Bynum and Dwight.
They've all given interviews that LA fans have perceived to be less than encouraging.

He seems very apprehensive and careful of what he is going to say... Guess the Orlando circus from last season, maybe he learned his lesson. I wouldn't take anything from this interview. Yes, we would like him to be more passionate or intensed, but does it really matter, if he can show it on the court. Hopefully the Lakers get hot and start collecting W's. I'm sure if the Lakers were on a winning streak, he would be more comfortable with an SAS interview.

I didn't really get anything from this one positive or negative. He's saying what he has to.
I didn't really buy that he was over Kobe shooting so much, but that's just idiocy to me so I didn't pay too close attention.
I still am ambivalent about Dwight going forward. I honestly don't see him as the face of the franchise, but maybe it's because I haven't seen him at 100% yet. The thing is, we'll be paying on a hope and a prayer that he gets back to 100% which is kind of hard to take. All the blind faith is on our end of the negotiation.
That said, I don't think I'd trade him either... I've got a feeling he might not be a whole lot easier to trade than Pau. Sure people would trade for him, but I think they'd bend us over in the process. This whole season has brought his value down to earth I suspect.

The face of the franchise needs more than just 25 and 15.....we need all of the off the court stuff, and knowing how to talk to the media and feed them with something they can report to us that makes us feel like he want's to be a part of our city, culture, and our sport's life is whats needed but with looming contact negotiations i would agree and say he said what he was supposed too!

He's got the charisma of a dead cat. Its a hard act to follow when the faces of your franchise over the years have been West, Magic, Riley, Shaq, Phil & Kobe.

kobe's always had a fake personality to me. of course dwight goes by the script, but at least he isn't trying to be mj.

Ya I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it fake, or maybe I would, but there's something about the way Kobe gives interviews that has always seemed odd to me. Like he tries too hard to make sure he says exactly the right thing rather than just say what's really on his mind.

Only thing that appears fake in Kobe's interviews is how hard he tries to act black, when he's really not.
