“You don’t want Rondo? Send him my way,” Kobe continued. “I love everything about him. Everything. I love his attitude, I love his chippiness, his edge, his intellect, his know-it-allness. All of it. That’s what makes championship players.

“What guard have you seen at his size that will get you 18 assists, 17 boards and 20 points all in one game? That’s unheard of. I love that kid. I always make a point of talking to him during All-Star [Weekend]. He’s one of my favorites.”

Summer of 2015 plan under new Lakers GM - Kobe Bryant

PG - Rondo
PF - Kevin Love
C - Dwight Howard

:D

In all seriousness though it seems like Rondo has grown on Kobe similar to how Rondo has frown on me. I used to dislike the guy but I grew to respect him as a player and everything he does on the court. I also love his toughness and its something we definitely lack especially when we play teams like OKC. Rondo would never put up with the abuse that Westbrook deals the Lakers every time we play OKC. That guy is always running his damn mouth.

I would love me some rondo on the Lakers, his ruthlessness and competitiveness is on another level but the dude cant shoot (consistently) to save his life, and if you pair him with Howard your only asking for trouble.

Summer of 2015 starts with LeBron.

But I wouldnt mind Rondo and Love. I am losing my interest in Howard.

But I caught flack on the board when I said Rondo would be a target in 2015... now Kobe says bring him on... and Kupchak tried to get him last year.

Rondo will be a Laker by 2015 at the latest.

Deal Dwight now for cap friendly contracts like Joakim Noah and Luol Deng

2015-16 Lakers starters

Noah 12mill per
Love 15mill per
Clark 8mill per
Kobe 12mill per
Rondo 12mill per

= 59mill between the starting 5

You guys are just going to have to deal with Dwight being a part of our long term plans. This crap is getting ridiculous now.

This board would probably hate Rondo after seeing his moodiness and inconsistent jumpshot day in and day out.

Remember how badly everyone was begging to trade Bynum for Dwight? Now when the going gets tough, people are jumping ship.

Dwight's here to stay, we're going to build around him, and just maybe we'll see a functional team in the next three years.

We'll see if he stays. I'm not 100% confident he resigns. I think he will, but I also believe he might bolt for Dallas or Houston (if there's cap space) considering he's having a hard time dealing with the LA media it seems. The guy cares too much about being liked.

i can see it now

kobe assumes the playmaking responsibilities and rondo has to play off ball and become a spot up shooter

lol that would be horrible. I do think Kobe will be retired by then though.

Rondo is overated, been saying it for years, he is a huge, HUGE liability on offense

i wouldnt say that

such liabilities dont simply put up triple doubles with ease

he's not a liability on offense, he's simply not great and it's easier to game plan for him than it is for the likes of CP3, Westbrook, or Irvin's of the NBA.

only when a player is injured or misses time for whatever reason do you get to see that player's impact. look at the clippers, they're 3-7 without paul healthy. what are celtics with the absence of rondo? 6-0.

And 5 of the Celtics 6 wins are against under .500 teams too. There's your impact.

putting up a triple double is meaningless if your scoring has little impact on the game (like 13ppg on 51TS%) and your passing is insanely overrated. do you know who is an impressive triple double threat? lebron james. because hes actually a good scorer who can put out points in volume and whenever his team needs them AND hes a good passer (probably better than rondo) and of course hes a beast on the boards.

good player, dont get me wrong, but he does not belong in the top 3 or top 5 point guard discussions at all. his general lack of scoring ability and the fact that bostons offense has gotten worse the more involved hes gotten in it does not bode well for him. hes without a doubt overrated and does not have the impact to back up what people say about him. personally, i would want him nowhere near the lakers.

Pass. The Celtics offense has been trash for years and Rondo in general is not a great PG.

That team wins because they play great defense as a unit and Rondo has very little impact on that end. He's a pretty good defender, but he's an overrated offensive player.

He has the potential to be a great PG if he can ever figure out how to hit that 20-footer consistently as well as FT's, but as it stands he'd be a horrible fit with Howard and the rest of the poor outside shooters that we have.

lol, well ****. why does rondo even try? he aint no lebron james

who cares? for a point guard that can pull down 10+ boards a game and make passes easy to catch for everyone involved

id have rondo just for his defense alone and thabo-ise him
