Any concerns?
For a 3 time DPOY player to give up a blown assignment isn't acceptable. Lakers could had easily lost.
These type of plays has me worried if Dwight is all in.

One thing I noticed was when Kobe was shooting free throws near the end of the game, it didn't seem like Dwight had any intention to go after a rebound in case Kobe missed. This might be reading too much into things but to me he has seemed unhappy/uninspired all year long, which doesn't make me feel very confident he'll re-sign here.

well to be fair, kobe almost blew the last assignment as well, just before blake stole the ball.
Which then goes back to make one question. Are we not coaching those details? End of game defensive assignments? End of game execution both offensively and defensively? We seem to be moving over the top, but not falling back, protecting the middle of the lane!
Anyhow "GAMETIME", thanks for the good question about end of game defensive strategy!

I think his defense the last three or so weeks has been excellent.

He was hedging the screen beings set for Korver which seemed like a decoy to get Horford open. Blown assignments happen

I think it was a lapse on the players' part than bad coaching. You cannot be that bad for an NBA coach and MDA has taken timeouts immediately if he sees a defensive breakdown, so he knows when things are getting f'ed up.

a play can only keep working if the coach isn't instructing players to watch out for it or advise them on how to defend it, IMO Antoni didn't do either of it, so pretty much 2 plays back to back almost worked seemlessly, thats just horrible.

All I know is Kobe and John Ireland were praising Dwight on the radio today for his defense down the stretch. If Dwight didn't scramble over and pick up Smith then they would have lost. Kobe said Dwight created the the bad bass at the end of the game by switching and smothering Smith. I think in this case complaints about Howard's defense are a little unfair for the way he has been playing and controlling the game.

When metta goes aggressive mode on defense you almost know the dude is no longer playing with his head but instead with his emotions. He either starts to over play too much or just starts using his hands way to much resulting in either getting beat or getting called for a foul
