Magic's Son makes big step.. Come out...

Magic Johnson's 20-year-old son hit the Sunset Strip, hand in hand with his boyfriend ... and his parents couldn't be happier for their kid.
Earvin Johnson III -- aka EJ -- is one of Magic's 3 kids. The Lakers legend tells TMZ, "Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way." Magic goes on, "We're very proud of him."
The feeling is mutual ... 'cause EJ told us he's been "hoping and praying" for his dad's team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, ever since Magic and his business partners took over the franchise.
He's also a huge Lakers fan ... obviously.
EJ -- who's a student at NYU -- has a close relationship with his parents. Back in August, Magic tweeted, "Thx to my son EJ for hosting me at NYU. Look forward to taking him to dinner tonight in the city."

It's a great thing he lives in an educated city where his sexuality is his business and he attends school in a city that thinks his sexuality is his business as well.
What would this country do without blue states and their usually higher number of educated, open minded and progressive citizens.

Is it really still that big of a deal in America? I live in England and nobody here could care any less about peoples sexual preferences. good for him though

Yeah, I'm surprised he wasn't outted before. Unless since college he's started to express himself more openly.

Part of the problem is that the people that built this country thought certain morals would carry on forever. We were taught to believe people should act and live a certain way.

Son is gay.
Kinda of a lot to deal with when you think about it. Good for on em for having some class. Actually gay son (who has a name I assume) isn't even a big deal at this point.

Magic Johnson is HIV-positive. He doesn't have AIDS. There's a difference. That said, given the stigma placed on HIV in the 80s, it's ironic his son is a homosexual when you think about it.

Well okay, that's true, but the way it was announced back in the 90s, he might as well have had the black plague.
